BYO Restaurants in New Jersey

Use this group to list and discuss BYO restaurants in New Jersey. (Bring Your Own Wine Restaurants) with or without Corkage.

We'll use this group to list and discuss all the great BYO or BYOW restaurants in New Jersey. New Jersey's alcohol laws are difficult in some towns, and therefore New Jersey has many restaurants that can not get a liquor license, or the licenses are even bought up by the local churches and then not used.

Love it or hate it, that's why New Jersey is such a great state for wine lovers. Go into the discussions and lets start finding out where all these great places are.

Have you tried Luce' on Bloomfield Ave in Caldwell? This was formerly Mezzanotte (owned by Ken Danyko of the NJ Devils). Regular menu is pretty standard but excellent specials and service is very good.

Although it's not straight up authentic, it's really excellent in its vision and preparations. You should check them out. Culinariane and Blu are mighty fine as well. Passionne, Table 8 and Epernay are maybe one tick behind and if you want fantastic Ethiopian food, don't miss Mesob.

Like JB said, the Montclair-area has a bunch. Mu current fav BYOW is Osteria Giotto, Italian place in that area. I would not be surprised if JB knows it. In my opinion very good Italian food.

I really liked "Blu" in Montclair... had dinner with JB there a few months back... have been back there once as well with the same great experience.
