Kpak and Jpak will be down from Alaska. I would like to put together an offline for them. Perhaps this is the time to open some of those 2000 Bordeauxs that I have in storage?

Tentatively set for Monday January 25th, in or near Oakland.

Please let me know your interest.

I might be able to dig up a 2000.
It's getting harder and harder to travel with wine, though...

Depending on the number of people, I was thinking of providing the bottles from my cellar. I can definitely provide at least one of the following as I would like to see how these are aging:

2000 Smith Haut Lafitte
2000 Carruades de Lafite
2000 Grand-Puy-Lacoste
2000 Malescasse
2000 Monbousquet
2000 Haut-Bages Liberal
2000 Les Forts de Latour
2000 Clos du Marquis
2000 Pavillon Rouge

I think we have 6-7 peeps right now.

I'm interested in attending, but alas I have no 2000 Bordeaux. Let me see if I can rustle up something, but if we get enough people, maybe a Sauternes to end the night?

I believe I have a 2000 Bordeaux and a bottle of champagne to bring.
Looking forward to it!

Cool.

Here's the plan. Let's have a blind tasting of 2000 Bordeaux at my house and then we can walk over to Somerset. That way, we can bring the un-consumed 2000 Bordeaux and / or people can bring a bottle of their choice from their cellar they want to share.

So:

6-7:30 at our house - blind tasting
7:30 at Somerset

How does that sound? If you do not know where I live, please contact me so I can send you directions. tanglenet at yahoo dot com.

Somerset is about a 5 minute walk from the Rockridge Bart station. Our house is about 10 minutes from the Rockridge Bart station.

Let me know who's interested and if you will be attending the blind tasting and / or the offline at the restaurant. That way I will have an idea of how many bottles to open and how many to make a reservation at the restaurant.

Cheers!

Saut for tasting and dinner. Bring glasses?

The lineup sounds great. I'll see if I can rustle up a 2000 to add.

List updated. We are about 10+ people

Saut, yes, I think bringing stems is a good idea. I have some good stems (not that many) and a bunch of cheap IKEA but not sure how many.

I just realized that we are full up. We have 10 people tasting with only 1 bottle of each wine, so there will only be a 2.5oz pour per person. If you are not on the prior page, it's too late!
