It seems that the DC Crü is finding it difficult to get something going.  How about something in May?  Another big cab night, Italian night, older Aussie night, or Pinot smackdown?

It's true!

I am up for something, but these past few months have been awful for me personally. I'd be up for something in May as long as it is not near the end of the month. If we can keep it on the cheaper side of things, all the better.

Maybe with summer just up around the corner, we can do some backyard BBQs or somesuch, too. We shall see!

sorry, may is a busy month for me so i'm out.

the secret to making offlines happen is picking a date and sticking to it, even if it only winds up being two people.

also i find that when wines are announced before hand and people are publicly committed to bringing something, there are fewer cancellations.

pm-ing to get a sense of people's interest level is also helpful. ask around what people want to drink, and make it a themed event. i know it's more work, but it makes for a more memorable outing.

but i do think the dc cru needs some fresh blood.

Interested, but can't commit one way or another until I see what TRep does.

I am potentially new blood. Live in Rville and work in DC.  Cellar has both great wines as well as everyday favorites.  Planning helps as I do attend a bunch of my son's sports events.

Favorite style these days in CnDP  but I'll drink anything red, a lot of whites and good Champagne

I'm definitely interested in attending but have some travel at the end of the month...as long as we can avoid the last weekend of the month, I'm in. Now it's up to Dave to make or break it...

I'm in for something, especially if it is cheap. Are we talking a weekend or a weeknight? Weekends are preferable, but I'll consider anything. Themes? Place to try (restaurant-wise)?

mstreger, the ages range from 30-ish to probably 50-ish. All wine is welcome, whether it is good or plonk, we won't mince words or care. if the wine sucks, we instead say it was used for palate callibration. If it is good, well, it's good! Everyone gets along just fine and we also tend to be as much foodies as winos. No need to fear us. well, except Dave. Dave is scary. ;-p

We could also always jointly meet up with the MD Crü and have a, wait, a Crü d'Etat.

Hi all,

I might be in DC in May for work.  So, depending on the date, I may be able to join.  I will watch the thread to see how this one comes along.

Hopefully see you soon.

Dave -- seems to be a disconnnect here- many have said the last weekend doesn't work including your blood brother TREP- and you said great last weekend in May works for me - so lets pick a real date- the 9th , 16th or the 23d and maybe we can find out who will come out to play- I say Italian, and pick between Dino's and someplace different-- Norm

May 16th works for me.  I have a commitment for the 23rd, and the 9th is my birthday so I'm going out to dinner with my honey, not you guys.

Gosh durn it, Norm.  You are correct.  I am nervous with these Interwebs to begin with and now I am constantly having to look over my shoulder for fear of Pool Boy.  I put 2 and 2 together and came up  5.  Italian is a promising start.
