| I'll be putting together a few wine dinners for the locals here in NJ / NY / CT and am starting with gathering those interested. If there are only a few, let's find that perfect quaint little place and pull those great wines out and have a blast.... at someone's home, at someone's favorite restaurant... it just doesn't matter.
If there are more than a few interested, let's take over a restaurant and get some flights going!
I'm trying something new with this... in hopes of making the organization of these events easier. I've created a new "Wine Group" that ANYONE (regardless of location) can join. From this group, I'll be able to send out email updates, create new threads, invite new members, etc.etc. Therefore, there will only be one place to go for information, and you won't have to search around for it or try and follow a 50 page long topic mixed in with all the other events in the forums.
To join the group, go to the "Wine Groups" tab on the navigation bar above, and just simply join the group.
Then we can see who's interested, and start planning some events! It's been much too long since some events have been happening in the North East.. so let's get to it! (As an FYI... ANYONE can create a "Wine Group" of their own... and be an "admin" of that group. All I ask is to keep it related to wine)

| Brad: you know me, always willing & able if the timing is right. I will join. Winetex just posted driking wine with friends is good for you. Thus...
I agree & who am I to argue with Winetex. :-)

| I found a couple more very good BYOWs. I've noticed JB is around Montclair a lot. Well, there is a couple of places in that area I've checked out lately. Let's do it! | | | |

| Brad...sounds like a good time. I'm splitting my time between SF and NYC, so I guess I can join one of your events in the future... Hope to meet the East Coast crowd soon! Now if only they will let me carry wine on the plane.... | | | |

| Great! Glad to see some interest... just join the Wine Group I created, and we'll hash out some dates. Maybe kpak and saut will be around at the same time.
lcc, great! Seems this will be pretty easy. | | My Profile: http://www.vinocellar.com/MyProfile/tabid/91/asuid/2/Default.aspx VinoCellar Tweets: www.twitter.com/VinoCellar

| Brad, where should we carry on the specifics here or in the Wine Group section? Let's put some dates down on paper & see who can make it.
By the way, what the heck ever happened to Jeff? Last time I saw him was when Bob Bressler was here & JB arranged a wine dinner. I sent him a couple of EMail after that gathering but never heard back from him.
In any case, let's get some dates down on paper.
We can definately arrange something with saut & kpak.

| In the Wine Group section...
Click on "discussions" and we have an entire forum we can use just for wine planning for ny/nj/ct.
You can subscribe (just as usual) to the entire discussion forum to make sure you see all updates.
The next update will also allow members of the group to get the Journal updates on the main page of the wine forum.
Eventually..... an "events" module will be tied in as well!! This will be super cool, and I can't wait for it!! It will have invites and attending members, etc.etc. to really help organize and keep track of things.

| When viewing the group discussions: Click the checkbox next to: [script removed]
To make sure you get the email udpates when someone posts. This would subscribe you to EVERY TOPIC. Or... just subscribe to the individual topics that interest you.

| Montclair is the Mecca of NJ BYO's...so many good options in my town. I'll set something up for us in a few weeks, after Easter. It'd be good to see everyone.

| The only thing it is hard for me to arrange for someone to watch the kid on weekdays. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays it is easier for me to arrange. But, depending it could be possible. | | | |
