Things seem to be falling apart for the Crü.  We were not able to get together in November, nothing in January, and so far nothing this month.

I'd like to propose that we try to set up something in March, maybe a Saturday night so more folks can plan for it, and get the Crü back on track.  What you say folks?

I'm up for something, in my mind, but the wallet is arguing with me. Is there a way we can do something on the CHEAP?

PB's suggestion is something that we've never considered...how to do a wine dinner inexpensively! I'm game...

Asian. Hard to pair with wine, but great on price and corkage.

We were at Mark's (Chinese) two Sundays ago for dinner, and it came out to be $50 per couple (including two bottles corkage @ $10 each) including tax and gratuity. Great Peking Duck, dumplings, shrimp, noodles etc. If only one crazy waitress wasn't trying to steal our infant girl, it would have been a perfect night!

I find that Brunellos, Rhones and Pinots work well with Peking Duck.

Okay...it seems like there's a bit of interest. When is everyone available? I'm traveling the last two weeks of March so the first half of the month will work for me. What about the rest of y'all? Also, who's in??

Have we decided on Mark's or Lavandou or Dino's perhaps?

I think I can make it during the weekend of 3/13-14. I'm out of town the previous weekend and committed to other obligations the latter half of March. I would be happy to organize the Duck House outing if everyone is interested. An 8-top with a lazy susan I think is the biggest table there so let's set the limit to that.

We can also do a weekday one if that date works better. I can bring a 2001 Charvin CdP.  Like I said, Rhone, Brunellos and Pinots work pretty well with Peking Duck!  :)

Mark's Duck House might be difficult for me if it isn't a Saturday nigh, since I have to METRO it, and there isn't one all that close.  I'd certainly be up for something downtown like Lavandou.  They have free corkage on Monday nights.

Like dinwiddie- I like the duck house but it's difficult after drinking to be a responsible driver from the duckhouse location-so Lavandou or Dino's is preferred if we are trying to keep costs down--That said it looks like Mondays that are available are the 9th and 16th-- and Pool boy we need to hear from you if these choices meet your approval-- it's time we all got together-- and I've got a few brunellos or Rhones that make the grade- so lets pick a date and go for it-- Norm

That's fine if you guys want to do something in DC - pick a date and go for it. Mon/Wed are out for me but don't let it stop you...

Actually Tuesdays work fairly well for me.  If we do Lavandeau we would have to pay the $15 a bottle corkage.  If we do a Monday so there is no corkage, James can't attend.  Of course, a Saturday night means corkage, but it sure makes it easier all around to get there and get up the next morning.

On the other hand, Dean would probably give us a big break on corkage.

I'm ok on Tuesdays and I'm all for not going when Jamietown is excluded - the fellow needs some relief from child care- I make a motion for lavandou on March10 and I'll bring a brunello-- Norm

How does Saturday the 14th work for people?  James said he would be available that weekend.

If the T-Reps are out, I am out.  I'm rooting for this to come together though.
