Aromas of dark fruit, spice, light to medium oak, light leather, lavender, citrus, and a hint of dark chocolate. Was concerned that tasting notes on CT frequently mentioned "candied cherries". I noticed the sweetness, but found it more similar to that of black cherry ice cream. Initially, the wine has a juicy mouthfeel, upper tone flavors, and finishes rather abruptly. Wine still remains fairly food friendly. After an hour without decanting, the last quarter of the bottle became richer, flavors seemed to be more concentrated. A review in WS uses the word "polished".
