I'm actually more interested in what I consumed in 2009 so I can better think about what I need and don't need for 2010.  Looking at CT, here's my breakdown:

White/Sparkling/Rose (27%)
Top regions: Burgundy, Champagne, Galicia, Loire

Red (73%)
Top regions: Burgundy, Tuscany, California, Bordeaux(!), Rhone(!)

Top varietals
Pinot Noir
Red Bordeaux Blend
Sangiovese
Chardonnay
Red Rhone blend
Champagne

Conclusions: I need to drink more Champagne!  Also it looks like I've been checking in some of my older Bordeauxs and Chateauneufs.  Looking at 2010, Loire consumption likely to shoot way up, and likely Syrah consumption as well.

What does your drinking habit look like?

JT - this is an interesting way to slice 2009 consumption.

Red - 56% - top regions - Piedmont!, Tuscany, Rhone, Burgundy, USA then a distant Spain
White/Rose - 44% - top regions - Champagne (not a surprise), Burgundy, California, Italy

By varietal - Chardonnay (bubbly and non), Pinot Noir, Champagne Blend, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Red Rhone Blend and Red Bordeaux blend. Clearly Cab is not the boss of us.

Top 3 producers consumed - Kosta Browne, Aubert, Peay. KB and Aubert are surprising but we drank, sold and gave away quite a bit of them last year to thin the herd. We drank every last one of the Peays. :)

Conclusions - We drink a LOT of Champagne and it's a good thing. For 2010 our Bdx consumption will probably rise along with some QC that might be finally ready to drink. We will also continue to drink Nebbiolo until our teeth fall out.

We don't have much Syrah other than Rhones and I'm not sure how that happened. I guess I just stopped buying it a couple of years ago.

Yes, it's interesting looking back and seeing what I have drunk. The odd thing is I ended the year craving more Syrah (damn you Cayuse) and CA Cab/blends. I think maybe this year I buy more CA/WA wines than I have in the past, and drink my share of Loire valley whites when the weather gets warmer.

I do drink more Loire valley whites than any other white varietal in the summer with German riesling a favorite as well. I got away from cab based wines a few years back but recently peaked my interest again by tasting a few mature domestic cabs along with a few left bank bordeaux with some age as well. Both were eye opening experiences especially the domestic cabs. I do prefer burgundy pinots, and chards for that matter, but don't drink as many due to what I have in the cellar isn't quite ready yet. So probably drink more Italian wines, nebbiolo and sangiovese, since most of them go with the style of cooking we do at our house. Domestic syrah falls right in behind these. I can see this shifting as soon as my burgs mature though :)
