| It was suggested by a wise wine woman to take a moment to introduce ourselves. Hugo Family Cellars is a dream come true. Total production is about 300 cases and we are looking forward to expanding this harvest. Our Sauvignon Blanc is currently very well represented in the Napa Valley at Mustards, Cindy's Back Street Kitchen, Go Fish, Meadowood Napa Valley and The Bounty Hunter Rare Wine and Provisions wine shop. We are in the process of expanding distribution into the greater Las Vegas area with Texas shortly to follow. Please let us know if you are in the area, we would love to sit down and hear about your dreams. Our story
Pam
and I met in 2001 while working for a large restaurant company in
Houston, Texas. It soon became very clear that we had a love for each
other as well as a love for wine. In 2003, we did the unthinkable; we
married in April and in October packed up and moved to Napa. It was
time to chase our dream! Through the next few years I
learned from some of the great winemakers of the valley the do's and
don'ts in the cellar and felt it was time for Pam and I to take the big
plunge. In 2007 we purchased two tons of Napa Valley Syrah, 1/2 ton of
Russian River Syrah and 1/2 ton of Russian River Grenache. We had
begun. It was working her first harvest that Pam defined our roles by
announcing "You're before Bottle, I am after.” Surviving
our first harvest we soon realized that this was definitely our path in
life. We vow to produce quality, well-balanced wines to be enjoyed with
food as well as on their own. Our passion for having fun with wine
amongst our family and friends will drive our business. We will develop
wine brands within the label that are unique and that bring a sense of
excitement and promote our individuality to our consumers. Our belief
is that quality begins in the vineyard. In pursuit of this, we will
continue to seek relationships with growers who are committed to what
we believe are the key attributes necessary to produce world class
wines. We welcome you to join our family and be inspired to chase your dreams. Cheers

| Hey Glenn,
Let me know when your distribution hits Vegas. I'd be glad to try out your wines, especially the Syrah/Grenache.
Good luck and take care.

| Glenn - welcome, and post often. There are several vintners here that might help with questions, too. Are you working with all purchased grapes, or do you hope to be a grower in the future as well? How would you describe your (collective) winemaking style?

| Saut - We currently are working with growers we have an intimate relationship with. I am sure if the right opportunity presented itself we would eventually become our own vintners, but that needs to be the best possible scenario.
Our approach to winemaking is an ongoing learning process with each vineyard. While we believe whole heartedly that the most important factor in making wine is the vineyard itself, each vineyard needs to be approached with a different style and each vintage present different challenges. We are very focused on getting the most out of each source by using cellar techniques (single berry sorting, extended cold soaks, open top barrel fermentations, extended macerations, no pumps/gravity only, limited racking, etc.) that help the fruit express its best characteristics. Ask me the same question on my 20th harvest and I'd like to think my techniques may have developed over the years, but the mindset is still the same.
Cheers and thanks for the warm welcoming!

| Glenn, Congratulations to you and Pam on pursuing that dream. And welcome to the business!! It's hard, often not rewarding financially, but infinitely rewarding in the experiences you will share both with each other and with folks as you share your wine with them. I've had the distinct pleasure pouring wine for many on this board. They're a great bunch.
We look forward to hearing all about your experiences and to meeting in person someday. Please feel free to contact me directly or through PM if you have any questions. While I don't know it all, I have made some good and bad decisions. | | Randy Sloan Match Vineyards
