Carmelized amber color, with sunny yellow rim.  Caramel, grilled nuts, and hints of pineapple and tokaji poached apricots on the nose, a bit reticent but fuller with air.  In the mouth, tangy apricots, medium concentration with a touch of hollowness in the finish.  Finish shows sweet oxydized apples with crisp acidity, and a final twang of bitter almond.  Not bad at all.  92 points.

As an aside, I'm beginning to find that these older Sauternes actually fill out a bit with a half hour in the decanter.  If others have experience or data points, please let me know.  And this was phenominal with the cheese course.  We had some mildish dry aged cheeses from Italy and the US with marcona almonds.

You're very lucky to have drunk such a bottle!
