- 2007 Kim Crawford Pinot Noir Marlborough - New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough (11/2/2008)
Unscrewed and poured. Dark red-purple. Interesting aromas.....raspberry, black cherry, blackberry liqueur, roasted meats, some herbs. Medium body, with plus acidity. Slightly Syrah-like, with dense red & black fruits veiled in rustic, almost meaty flavors.....even a taste of black olive. A touch of green and minerals carry through on the finish. Tannins are chalky but light in their presence. Interesting stuff, goes great with food. Probably better to drink in the near term before the fruit fades away from the acidity. (87 pts.)
