| Who is this NOT WORKING for?
Who is this WORKING for?
I'm hoping I can compare accounts and settings to track this issue down for good....
If possible.... (though it may not be) please describe if there is a repeatable way to make this happen, that will help...
Thanks!

| Not really on topic but...
I went through and read all the posts in this thread. Then I posted the above. Then I click on "Vino Cellar Forums Information" and go back to the "main" page of this thread and it shows the little star that indicates there are posts to read... and there aren't.

| | Yea, there is definitely a bug where when YOU post a new post.... it tells you there is a new post... the one that you just posted! | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| | Just returned. Opened this thread first and it "jumped" like it should. A good sign. | | | |

| Just looked at a half dozen threads and everything was working well until...
I clicked on "Napa Valley Restaurant update" that is 28 pages long and showing new posts and plop! , it went to the first post on page one.

| I think some of the really old threads have the problem… L but the newer ones don’t.
Not sure when that thread started though… but I think it was before the big update. | | If you drink wine, you get smarter....

| Bob, just some questions to try and track this down.
Did you have to log in again the day it changed? If you delete your Vinocellar cookie and try again, does it start working correctly again?
Thanks for your help! - Brad

| No I did not have to log in again. I did not try deleting the cookie, but once I found the end of a thread, the next time I came to that thread the right thing happened. The system did correctly identify what threads had new posts, so it was remembering correctly about many things, it was just as if the thread position piece got trashed. Is that stored in the cookie? | | | |

| | Thanks for the feedback! No, read/unread information is stored in the database. Just trying to figure out what I can relate this issue to! | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| | Brad, I don't know if this will help, but since two days ago, I have been going to the first post (only the first time, of course) for all the threads. However, I just opened the "Greetings from" thread for the first time in a while (weeks?) and it took me to the first unread post! Are those pointers all stored in the same place? Apparently not. Can you give us just a few words on how it is implemented so I can (maybe) get some better feedback for you. | | | |

| Also, if you edit a reply, it takes you back to the first post in the thread and not the edited reply...

| | I still have a problem with this. It seems (but not exclusively) to the longer threads. It happened on this thread just now. I guess if I don't look at a thread for a period of time it doesn't jump. | | | |

| | Alas, it is not as simple as that. I hadn't been back to this thread for a month - but I went right to the last post. Whereas several times during that period it seemed like all my last post pointers had been reset. Makes it pretty hard to fix. | | | |

| | Still happening... now almost more than not. Very disappointing! Makes me not want to come back... again! It is tedious and boring. | | | |
