| I have a ton of tasting notes to post and I cannot for the life of me find a 100% definitive way to quickly and easily find a a previous tasting note if it already exist. No matter what I do I end up with tons of returns and have to visually search through them to find the wine. No way I'm going to keep doing that. Help please!

| | I understand your pain... the forums will have an update released to me near the end of this month. It should have some good search enhancements. | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| Didn't say that...
There isn't a 100% definitive way... only a 80% definitive way. I've had better luck using the Search on the top in the blue bar. That is the "core" search.
Further, I've had luck using the specific forum search.
I'm sorry it's not quite optimal right now... It is however being addressed. | | If you drink wine, you get smarter....

| | This is an issue for me as well. It says "search this forum" but it searches the whole forum, not just the tasting notes. I will try the quote thing, but maybe the search should be specific to the forum topic that it is located on. | | | |

| | This is a an issue I've already reported. Many more search enhancements are in the works. Sorry for this issue... many more improvements to come besides search as well. | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| If I do a search and get 50 hits, when I click on the first one and read it I am unable to get back to my 50 hits. If I hit the back button, I am taken back to the search box and need to perform the search all over again. | | | |

| I'm trying to add a tasting note, and did a search for "kongsgaard". This is the result:
Cannot use a CONTAINS or FREETEXT predicate on table or indexed view 'NTForums_Posts' because it is not full-text indexed.
Help ! | | | |

| | when i try to search within a particular forum -- i.e. to see if a tasting note already exists for a particular wine -- the search result show all the matches for ALL the forums, and not just the forum i am searching in. has anyone else had this problem? | | | |

| | Click on Search in the upper right hand corner, then when presented with the search screen click the little down arrow on the far right hand side. You'll be presented with a list of the forum and can select which specific one to search in. They type your selection into the search box and press the magnifying glass to search. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| | shouldn't the "search this forum" box perform the same function without being taken to a new screen? | | | |

| | Well you would think so but that's a question for "the man". FWIW, if you're in a forum and press the magnifying glass next to the "Search this forum" it'll take you to the "advanced" search screen I already described. Not the best thing but it gets the job basically done. Search still needs work IMHO. | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| | FYI...I just posted another request in the feedback section on searching. If you do a search of a section and the results are numerous they will run off the end of the formatted page. For an example of this go to the France-Other Notes section and using the advanced search option search for "Zind". | | Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| Well, something has changed. I'm in the Italian forums and searched under "la" and got nothing. At least in this part of the forum, nothing comes up in the search for any text. Good luck with some new fixes...rest of the forum is great!
PS: I like the new colors, and since I mostly work at night it keeps me awake. Nice job! But I need to learn to use the search better so I can post some tasting notes.

| Yea, I did roll out a new update but didn't bother to mention it because it only partially fixed the "search this forum" feature. If there is only one page of results, "search this forum" works correctly. If there is more than one page, it's not performing the search correctly on the second pages and higher. It forgets which forum it's searching in.
Search by user was fixed, but I haven't tested the second page yet on that one.
There were also some admin functions improved on the update, but again, no big affect for users. | | If you drink wine, you get smarter....

Is this being addressed? Will there ever be a "Return to Search Results" pathway? The problem of having to repeat your search everytime you hit the "Back" button is a P.I.T.A.
