Ok well.. I guess it's up to me. the bottle sizes is a great idea, but there aren't enough.

So here is what I'm trying to come up with.... help out where you want... first here is the list.. I'll assign post count numbers to it later.

I reall don't know the art of winemaking very well, so a little help in the order of things, and anything that I missed, or anything out of order.... or anything that doesn't belong is greatly appreciated.
I could do my homework... but nah, I'll just let everyone here correct me.

I’d suggest:

Grape Picker
Grape Truck Driver
Grape Destemmer
Grape Stomper -> Crusher (stomping breaks the seeds, ugh!)
+ Grape sorter
Grape Fermenter
Grape Graduate -> punch downer (puncher down?)
Barrel Pourer -> filler
Barrel Racker
- Barrel Ager - xxxxxx (does it by itself)
Barrel Sampler
Barrel Graduate -> Wine Thief
+ Wine Bottler
+ Wine Labeler (or corker, or capsuler)
Wine Drinker
Wine Lover
Wine Connoisseur
Wine Addict
Wine Steward
Basic Sommelier
Advanced Sommelier
Master Sommelier ----
Master of Wine ------- switch these two

Bressler, I love the changes... thanks!!!

Ok... quick vote:

Which is more prestigious?
Master Sommelier
Master of Wine

This will determine the order of the two in the "titles"

Do to limitations.. I couldn't use them all.. but here is the final list with post count needed.

I reserve the right to raise post counts needed to change titles if I deem that posts aren't always adding value to the site! *hint hint nudge nudge*

I resemble that remark. But guess what?! I am a Barrel Filler! Does that mean I get to sample what's going in the Barrel?

Please?

Now I get it. I was wonder what happened to my title.

Hate to say it, but sommelier has a negative connotation with me. I'm sure there are good ones.

I always thought that a Master of Wine indicated one knew everything about making and selling wine, not nescessarily tasting.

A Master Sommelier drinks/tastes wine, knows every detail about serving it and can make recs for other peoples pleasure. They also must have the skill of identifying wines blind.

Now I know we all have had problems with Sommeliers. Most are not worth a plug nickel. But an MS is something that only about 150 beings have earned.

And I am no way implying that a Master of Wine isn't also something very special.

Just my 2 cents.

I do believe that there is a tasting test included in the Master of Wine test that is very difficult and requires a well trained palate.

Master Sommelier is the top of the heap and there are a very small number in the world. Here is a short article that talks about what is required:
