We were fortunate to have Seek, ojeffso, Dr T, and me in the chat function tonight. Some observations:

1) It is harder than he11 to get ahold of people! Here's what I suggest:
a) have functionality to "invite" people from that point.
b) "invite" looks to see who is currently online
c) "invitER" chooses from online people to invite them.
d) "invitEE" gets instant message in a pop-up message allowing them to accept or decline message.
e) if they accept, they go to CHAT. If they decline, they do NOT go to CHAT.

2) Notice how I spelled he11 above. Why? Well, try typing the word "g l a s s" or "c l a s s" in a chat message. Not sure how it works here on the main forum. The "obscenity filter is WAAAAYYYYYYY too sensitive.

3) It is annoying to not have a visible cursor when typing in the CHAT area. Please give us a block cursor or SOMETHING so one can see where one is typing.

4) Nice work so far. Thanks for a friendly alternative!

Steve

Cheers, y'all

All very valid, good, user-friendly points. And, will be looked @ carefully when we are going to be attending to that functionality. This is just a temp feature, call it a "TEST"-version. Let's see if people take to it. If they do, the things that you suggest will be implemented (if the technology allows it). Will keep this topic handy.

Thank You for the suggestions. Exactly the feedback that we are looking for/hoping from people.

Nice picture. NOW, this guy can be in those "interesting" Movies we talked about a few months ago.

Funny...

I would agree, chat invitations should be allowable. Multiple chats, both public and private, should be supportable

It's an active x program. His browser security might be too high.

Perhaps try deleting your internet file cache and try again? Be patient the first time after deleting them.

What browser are you using, and what version? I'd have to think it's not IE... and if it is... it's an older version?

I just ran 'Windows Update', where it just updates current security loopholes. Whatever it did, I can now enter the chat room. Sweet.

It's a microsoft product. 1) reboot 2) update all their million patches 3) buy newest mega-operating system to compensate.

I won't have that much time to spend here, so chatting will probably not be for me. For me it will be, read info, provide info, out of here.
