Smaug posted a comment elsewhere in this forum subsection about how the TNs sections were set up. His wporry was that he might 'miss out' on a wine he might like by only haunting the categories of TNs he likes. He brings up a valid point. Somtimes the serendipity of seeing a TN might inspire you to try something you might not normally try...

I wonder if there would be a way to customize this software to allow for a 'favorites' thing. Kind of like recommendations on amazon.com where you could see the most heavily viewed or replied to TNs from across all the TN threads. Or maybe even add a field where the rating could be stored so we could create our own VC (as opposed to WS or WA) rating. Even drill it down to each user, so, if you decided you liked a particular user's TNs, you could see what other wines he has written TNs on that are of a certain score or higher.

I also like the idea of a 'random' TN forum. Perhaps duplicates of a random sort would be 'copied' here at random so people could peruse the TNs at random to perhaps have the luck of seeing a 'random' TN and thus perhaps spawning a passion for a new wine.

Am I on to something here, expanding on smaug's idea, or am I a looney?!

TJ, you are definitely onto something. The personalized VinoCellar, hence the name of the site, is one of the first features we will have. Many things are to come. Right now that the building blocks are being laid down. Eventually we'll start building the house on top, which will eventually turn into a mansion.

Also, while viewing a forum and all the threads in it, you can click on the headings of the columns. In this manner, you can see what threads have the most views, most replies, or all the posts separated by who posted them, time posted, etc.

Try it out. It's definitely interesting to see.
