| In my early days on the WS forum there were questions that I often wanted to ask but for some reason I wouldn't. I guess I didn't want to sound ignorant or thought that if people saw that I didn't know one fact that the rest of my posts were from an uneducated source.
Now a days I have a little more swagger and confidence, I will ask any question and answer any question. However, I was wondering if it was possible to create a forum where the asker of a question could show up as Anonymous but the answers would have the names of the poster replying.
A forum like that might take some of the intimidation factor out of asking the rest of the forumites questions. I think it could spark even more debate then we already have if there were more questions popping up.

| | If anonymous posts were allowed the potential for mischief will be considerably magnified. The Moderators would have to apply special scrutiny to such an area. I can see the benefits but I am not sure if incurring the inherent negatives is worth it. | | | |

| JW1, You have a way of taking what seems (on the surface) to be an excellent idea, and bringing it down to earth (or shoot it full of holes). Does that talent stem from your legal background? | | | |

| | Right now, we have no plans for allowing anonymous posts. The downside is too great. Currently there is only one forum that allows anonymous posts, the "Problems with the Vino Cellar Board? " | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| | Sadly Yes. Part of what people pay me for is to forecast future problem areas and take steps to ameliorate thse problem areas. Usually however, I come on the scene after things have blown up. I then take advantage of loopholes for my client. | | | |

| | I agree that this idea may not actually work that well. We should have an environment where people are not afraid to ask any wine related question, no matter how basic it may be. In most cases, I don't look to see who asked the initial question anyway. | | | |
