| | I'm sure this has been suggested before, but the VC board really needs a separate area for TN from Spain. The category "European other" does not cut it. | | | |

| | Honestly, I would not mind seeing the 4 current France TN sections collapsed a bit if it were needed to make room for, say, a Spain/Germany section... | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

If we all start making threats towards the French section, it will collapse on its own. It is the nnature of the beast.

I wouldn't like to have a Spanish and German sections at the cost of some of the French sections. Bordeaux and Burgundy each probably have more threads than both Spain and Germany combined. Rhone is my favorite French region, and there's need of the French Others for everything else. Having said that, I would like to have those new sections as well. It all boils down to one's interests (eg, I don't like to have Argentina and Chile thrown in "Worldwide Other", but I see there are not enough threads for a exclusive section).
Some people don't like so many sections, but you can't please everyone, but if there's enough interest... BTW remember there was a poll asking about this before, and the results are telling.

| | I pulled up TJ's poll and it's over a year old now. Only 50 votes (less than 10%) out of the over 500 members on the VC board. I bumped it so maybe there might be a few more who'd like to chime in on this one. | | | |

| Jeezzz, we've been all through this.
I know those of you who weren't around a year ago or so don't know that we have already gone on about this. All the pros; all the cons... Been here done this.
The answer is a hopefully friendly, "NO".

| It's funny. The poll was a very lopsided 'YES'. | | | |

| | B-Man. That's the way I read it too. 80% voted "YES". Still, this is a small sample size given the board now has 540 registered users. | | | |

| The votes were counted in FL and that explains the result. The numbers have little to do with the result.
I did not vote.
I do not really care.
I personally think we should have a section for Mexican wine, but that's just me.

I vote to leave things as they are. Currently the four France tasting notes sections are more than the Italian+European_other sections combined. It would be interesting to see how much of the European other tasting notes are actually Spanish. I'd be willing to bet that there could possibly be just as many tasting notes on German wines as Spanish.

Sorry but this board is not really a democracy.
Don't misunderstand me... I see nothing wrong with more TN sections. Iirc the decision was made for mechanical (that's not the right word) reasons rather than emotional reasons.
