How do you guys get such clear avatar files? When I size pictures down to 80 X 80 pixels, my avatar is really grainy and hard to see. Any tips?

I don't resize. I let Vinocellar auto-resize it for me when I upload it.

Didn't work. VC came back with "can't upload files larger than 40000 bytes."

If you like, forward the picture to me.. I'll put it through Photoshop. My address is on the Contact Us link somewhere on the bottom.

Ok, that's about the best you'll get out of that photo. I zoomed in a little, applied some sharpening, etc.

CWG's looks great Brad. But yours is now bad. You cant edit like that at 72dpi.

It used to work for me. Guess future uploads will be more complicated for me then. D'oh.

My kitty will beat up your kitty.

I do suppose out of the 1000's of 6.3MP photos I have, I could dumb a few down for a cool avatar.

I believe that Revlis/Brad put in a size limit on the avatars after I complained about TJ having a 250KByte avatar. I prefer to see smaller avatars as the pages load faster and there is less load on the server meaning we all get faster loading of web pages on Vinocellar. A good deal for everyone.

I was going to mention that, but I wasn't going to blame you skwid! lol. I should've blamed myself because originally there was a limit that I took off for some reason and forgot to put it back! 40,000 is the default.

THe size of the file is no problem, IMO. Getting the file to downsize used to be as simple as loading it up and the site just sorta auto-dumbed it down for me. Now I just need to go figure out how to use photoshop.
