| I am still drying out from what was another excellent dinner at Green Gables Inn in Beach Haven, NJ. The food was amazing, as always. I will post some TN's as my head clears, but here is the list of dead soldiers:
NV Segura Viudas Brut Reserva '85 Charles Heidsieck Brut (off bottle, horrible actually. Not consumed)
Whites (tasted blind) '96 Latour Giraud Meursault Genevrieres '00 V. Girardin Corton Charlemagne
Cabs (w/ one ringer, tasted blind) '94 BV Tapestry '95 Constant Diamond Mtn. '97 Phelps Insignia (my WOTN) '97 Peter Michael Les Pavots '99 White Cottage Howell Mtn. (my #2) '99 Behrens & Hitchcock Kenefick '99 Behrens & Hitchcock Merlot '99 Catena Zapata Mendoza Argentina
NV Taylor Fladgate 20 yr. Tawny Port
Great night. We ended up going across the street for drinks at Buckalews after dinner. That was my downfall...I feel sorry for those of you that had to be at work early today.

| Uh, didn't you leave right after dinner? You missed the debauchery. I never claimed to be a big drinker, but I'm pretty sure Petey could give you a run. He was drinking Grand Marniers and Miller Lites after all that wine. Don't know how he does it.

| Oh man... dude... you don't know what pain really is!!! Those two well poured Grand Marniers were my downfall. People at work kept asking if I was ok. I guess I was spacing out a little too often. For you LOTR fans, I got up at 5:45, had first breakfast and like a gallon of coffee at around 6:30, then second breakfast and another big cuppa Joe around 9:20, then a small lunch and gallons of water. Now.... I'm at home... drinking a baby numanthia. Woohoo!!!
Going to bed early though... that's for sure.
Petey, great to meet you and the professor. Always a pleasure to see the rest of you.... I look forward to more. Thanks go out to Green Gables as well. What a fantastic dinner. I'll be posting pictures tonight on this thread after I download and format them.
WOTN for me was the '97 Insignia. The Cottage Cheese was originally my WOTN but it Petered out fairly quickly. Mr. Jazin explained beforehand that it was built to drink early however, so perhaps that should be expected.
(yes, that was a bad joke about the cottage cheese, seeing as how it went bad fairly quickly ie. few hours) | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| I don't have the strength right now for separate TN's. If anyone wants a Tn on a specific wine, let me know.

| Is that a good thing or a bad thing, ojeffso? You know how you always say, "the dessert wines were our downfall." Somehow, we have now graduated to after dinner cocktails after the dessert wines. Crazy. Rev has some pictures of the night. It got really sloppy by the end. jb | | | |

| That's Petey's girlfriend Jamie sampling the dump bucket, in what is now a Wine Syndicate tradition. Every gathering someone must sample the "DUMPER".

| eeeewwwww. I was wondering who the lucky one was. You guys don't look too sloppy although JB looks outrageously happy. That's how wine gatherings should be! | | | |

| She was really hilarious about that. I suggested that a woman had never drank from the slop bucket, and she stepped up to the plate!! Unfortunately, so did her nice sweater!! | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... | |

| FYI- Mr Jazin was feeling about the same as all of you Monday morning- ... and he was not a happy camper...I knew those Grand Marniers were going to be trouble. I am so glad I got a good night's sleep - I felt fine in the morning, which is a good thing since I had a very busy day at work Monday... we made good time getting back- took 1 hr+ 45 mins to get to work in Newark. Thanks again JB- it was a great night of wonderful food and wine, we are glad we were able to make it. PS- My wines of the night were the Phelps Insignia#1 and the White Cottage Cab #2, followed by the B&H Kenefick Cab #3. | | | |
