Friday night the wife and I were fortunate enough to be invited to a tasting of select wines from Campania, Italy in Boulder. We had a great time and tried some wonderful wines. By far the best part of the evening was meeting new wine enthusiasts in the area, including a couple working in the wine business (always good to know the people you buy from).
While tasting we had a great selection of salami, cheeses, crackers, etc. to snack on. Later we had a hearty beef stew, which was a great match to the hearty wines.
A quick note before moving on to the wines: When I assign points to a wine at an event like this, it's represents how much I enjoyed the wine at that time. I don't take into consideration how the wine will age, etc. Since I don't like overly tannic wines, many of the young wines don't have huge scores even though they are obviously very well made and that I'd love to taste them again in 5-10 years...
