| Care of an offline with Corkage and his Crue, I consumed the following--
1997 Kistler Chardonnay McCrae Vineyard paired with nothing -- the 'chef's wine' during dinner prep and kibbitz
Pommery Brut Champagne NV Just for the heck of it to kick it off
1995 La Palazzetta, Brunello di Montalcino 1997 Monticello 'Jefferson Cuvee' Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Paired with a Carpaccio of Beef, drizzled with a Lemon, Caper & Virgin Olive Oil emulsion and topped with Roasted Yellow Peppers, Fresh Garden Basil and Parsley, served with from scratch grilled foccacia bread
1998 Giacomo Bologna Barbera d'Asti Briada, Piedmont 1994 Bodegas Montecillo Rioja Gran Riserva Paired with a 'Messinese Baciole di Manzo' -- Roll of Beef stuffed with Egg, Prosciutto and Basil, braised in Crushed Tomatoes, over a medeley of Olives, Capers, Toasted Pine Nuts & Currants
1982 Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa 1986 Chateaus Lynch Bages, Pauillac Paired with a Grilled Ancho-Garlic rubbed New York Strip seared rare and sliced, on a Polenta Cake Layered with Fried Green Tomatoes & finished with a Chipotle & Green Peppercorn Red Wine reduction
1995 Chateau Langoa-Barton, St Julien Served with an assortment of cheeses (I forget all of them -- a triple creme brie, a smoked gouda, a bleu (Roquefort?) and something else)
1988 Chateau Raymond-Lafon, Sauternes Served with a creme brulee & fresh berries
We had a great time visiting with Corkage and his wife & friends (his Crue) in his lovely home (his Crib). What was even more enjoyable was that Mrs. TJ and I got to indulge without helping or sharing or anything -- supposedly because this was our inaugural dinner with his pals. They all made sublimely delicious dishes and also they shared all the wonderful wine with us. What a super time. Next time, I'm contributing -- IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| Wow - Corkage seems to be a great cook. Did he (they?) make all of the food?

| | My wife and I met the Corkages last Summer in Virginia. We shared some nice wines and dinner and enjoyed the time we spent together. | | | |

| | You lucky dog! As a past beneficiary of cooking by the Corkages, I can say the food would've been phenomenal. Sounds like it was a great time! | | | |

| | Corkage did the third course, the others were provided by his gifted buddies. But I am pretty sure Corkage-dude helped out on every dish (hell, I think they each pitched in for each other). It was fun to watch and just kibbitz. But next time I am sure I am gonna have to come up with some kitchen magic of my own. It was quite a nice time. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| wow, I just saw this post.
A group of us (the others are non-Vinocellar or WS boardies, although I've tried to get them involved) try to do a 4-5 course dinner once a month. It started with me doing all of the cooking with assistance form others but has evolved (thankfully) inot others doing a dish or two. We try to go over the top with the wines and food. This dinner's theme was all red meat, all red wine (except dessert).
Always lots of fun. It took TJ & Mrs TJ 8 months to finally attend (scheduling conflicts), I hope that JohnnyB and Jaimetown and others can join us soon.
The dinners are the only way we can consume enough wine to make room for the wine in the boxes on the floor of the cellar
