Ya know.... this is what it's all about for me. Sure I have good wine at home. I even have wine that is a lot better than what I had tonight at home. I'm sure we all do.

But when it comes down to it, even a mediocre 80 point wine becomes classic when it's shared amongst people like the ones at tonight's dinner. So it was just a bonus that we also really did have some great wine!

I had an absolutely fabulous time tonight talking with everyone. With all the wine and great food, sitting next to jbembry and jazin, looking down the table and seeing lcc and his amazing friends on one side, across from me a wine tasting newbie (not anymore! we popped his cherry!) and old friends and new friends on the other side of the table, the night really was fantastic.

In my enthusiasm, I've already posted pictureshere.

As an FYI -- Afrim and his staff from Aquila in New Providence, NJ hosted a fabulous evening. Everything was perfect and went very smoothly. Thank you Afrim.

Thanks to jbembry for organizing the wines. I know lcc had a big hand in keeping things together as well before his vacation. Yours truly put the menu together.... though really it was Afrim so I take no credit for myself.

And thanks to everyone else for a great evening. I hope to see you all again very soon.

If anyone wants to create the Tasting Notes threads for all the wines we had, I'd be happy to link them all together here.

If you drink wine, you get smarter....

Another BLAST. My friends (1st time @ this) told us that they had a BLAST, so much fun (I think more Winos in the making after this). The Food was Excellente. Wine was Good. Honestly, Not my favorite Grape, but overall a lovely time. Never get enough of these.

LCC,

I don't think I would want to quote what you were saying at this point in the evening, Sediment , lest I get banned from this wonderful new forum.

Cheers, y'all

These pictures are great and all, but how about some commentary with them. Who are all these folks?

This is interesting to me that your theme was Grenache. My tasting group is doing Grenache in early January. Get those notes out soon.

My comments:

1st: Stemor. THANK YOU verrrrry much AGAIN for delivering the Dunn Howells.

2nd: dr.x-man: THANK YOU for your idea/suggestion & as you see Mr. Revlis already incorporated it.

3rd: GREAT job by Revlis on Implementing this soooo fast.

4th: winebrat. This was my 1st try @ this Grape. I liked it. Cannot say that I fell in-love with it. But, I liked it as a Grape. Once in a while, I would buy it. Went very well with the Duck. But, this Restaurant is 1 of the BEST in my experience @ making Duck.

5th: skwid. I will as soon as I get some time today. Stay tuned. Will put the faces/stories with the Pictures.

You ask & you shall receive:

OK, let’s see (from left-to-right, top-to-bottom).

2nd picture: The handsome young man, is yours truly.
3rd picture: j.b. standing up, pouring Vino (what else?, iced tea?).
4th picture: Short looking @ a glass of Vino like it’s the end of the world.
5th picture: Yours truly, again, & wife.
6th picture: Yours truly, again, & wife.
7th picture: Ttepper & girlfriend. Cute, isn’t it. Young people in–love, like that. Lovely.
8th picture: armar_one & wife. Lovely also.
9th picture: Jazin & hubby. He is Not stripping, the place was a little warm for him I guess.
10th/11th picture: Ojeffso’s lovely wife & (if anyone does NOT know who that is, no comment…).
… A lot of BSing going on, that’s all.
24th/25th: Friends of ours. Lovely couple, aren’t they??? And, it was their 7th year Anniversary. Cute.
26th/27th: More pictures of friends.

And, LAST Picture. skwid mentioned something about the “sediment”. PLEASE, all click on the picture to enlarge it. You will see “sediment” like never before. That was my Glass.

My quote & “quote of the night” on that pic, “I have sediment here up the ying yang (spelling)…” End quote. Everybody dies laughin’.

Board_O: What was up with ALL the freaking’ sediment???

LCC,
It looked to me like picture number 2 was an add for a barber.
See the well-defined neckline.....
