| This event took place in San Francisco from 6:30 until 9 in the War Memorial building in Van Ness Ave. It was very crowded and due to the heat wave, it was hot inside.
The best wine was 00 Shafer Hillside which showed great body, huge fruit and excellent potential.
Other wines just in alphabetical order:
98 Bussia Soprana Vigna Colonello Barolo: light
Krug Rose: very good
01 Dutton-Golfield Syrah: some pepper but light
00 Fonseca: good body and fruit
00 Taylor: good but less body than Fonseca
00 Ramos Pinto: close nose but very tasty
00 Niepoort Secundum: too alcoholic
01 Hartwell CS: med body, close, some pepper
01 K Vinter Syrah: complex, peppery
02 K Vinter Syrah: light
01 La Jota Howell Mt. CS:Very tight, full body
01 La Jota CS:light
01 La Jota Petit Syrah: their last year for it.
02 Merry Edwards RRR PN: good
01 Nickel & Nickel Merlot: good body and lenght
01 Niebaum Coppola Cask CS: full body, tannic
01 Penforlds RWT: peppery ful body
00 Penforlds St. Henry Syrah: light
00 Ridge Montebello CS: light but with fruit
01 Stephen Ross Bien Nacido PN: light
00 Ornellaia: light
01 Von Strasser Diamond Mt.: slightly sweet, tight
02 Yalumba Viogner: very light
