Glad you guys had a great time, lcc. That's quite a nice lineup. FWIW, we were really busy yesterday. I would not have been able to leave anyway.

BTW, how was the Montiano and Plumpjack showing? I have a few bottles of each.

My WTON were:

Val Llach
Montelena
Gemstone

I was really disappointed with the Togni and Tom Eddy.

The Montiano was disappointing because I have a couple in the cellar and it wasn't showing much fruit (good nose though). I've heard this is not open now and I'm hoping that is the case.

The Plumpjack was very good and could stand a few more years due to its increased level of tannins.

Thanks again, LCC, for a wonderful afternoon and evening. Your hospitality and generosity are first rate!

LCC and Mrs. LCC, thank you for opening your home and effortlessly pouring your generosity into the evening. I had an excellent time and was glad I was able to make the drive down to spend some time with some of my best drinking buddies!

01 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chard - Very good
99 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Chard - Very good, at peak maturity

99 Neal Family Napa Valley Cab Sauv - very ripe, raisany, tannic, 2-4 more years - #5 WOTN
97 Plumpjack Oakville Napa Valley Cab Sauv - This was very good with plenty of life left, rich and long
00 Falesco Montiano Lazio IGT - ehh! it's italian, decent
01 B&H Ink Grade Napa Valley Cab Sauv - flawed IMO
97 Tom Eddy Napa Valley Cab Sauv - good
01 Vall Lach Priorat - young and tight,
97 Vineyard 29 Napa Valley Cab Sauv - this I liked, excellent balance.
98 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cab Sauv - glad I don't have any
98 Araujo Eisele Vineyard Napa Valley Cab Sauv - excellent #3 WOTN
98 Jones Family Napa Valley Cab Sauv - Excellent, #4 WOTN
99 Gemstone Napa Valley Yountville Appellation Cab Sauv - Excellent, #2 WOTN

...would like to + the following: Damn you, Winetex & skwid.

By the way, I've posted this before, but I have a lot of '01 Vall Lach. I could sell some @ my cost, no problem.

What I found interesting about the wines that night is how just about every one had a different WOTN:

LCC: 01 Kongsgaard Syrah
LCC's brother: 95 Montelena
ojeffso: 01 Vall Llach
Short: 01 Val Llach / 94 Montelena / 99 Gemstone
Jazins: 01 Kongsgaard Syrah (I think)
Seek: 95 Montelena
Cabhead: ?
Revlis: ?

...that's great. And, thus, the beauty of wine.
