I'll need to talk to the caterer, but I think I may be able to increase the cave dinner by two.  I'll let you know by the middle of next week, because I need to get moving on the contract.

Any suggestions on what to bring to John Ash and / or the Freeman Cave dinner? Pinot, Cab, Champagne?

For John Ash, it's wide open.  I'd suggest one bottle per person, and a few people should bring bubbly for starters.  I know somebody will bring some sweet wine as well.

For the Freeman dinner, you really don't need to bring any wine, unless you want bubbly at first.  There will be a ton of wine from all of the winemakers.  I would guesstimate that the grand total of bottles opened last year was at least 100.....for about 45 people.

Chris,

Unfortunately, my wife won't be able to make it, so I'm down to 1 person for the the dinners on Friday and Saturday. I'm still in for the bus on Saturday and a room Saturday night. Not sure about a Friday night room - what's your deadline ?

EDIT

I'm set to fax the form to her today.  I've already confirmed the room totals.  If we have to drop a room we can do so up to 14 days before the event.  This will incur a $20 fee.  If within 14 days, the full charge for the room is imposed.

I don't need the totals on dinner for another three weeks....so we're safe there.

Chris,  Thanks for the update.  I'm in for a room for both Friday and Saturday night.Â

Unfortunately, I have to fly home Sunday, so I won't be able to make the barrel tasting Sunday morning

David (NCVL), you are now on the active list since Scott's wife couldn't make it.  I'll make it work out somehow.  Please advise your hotel/bus needs, and if you and Alice can make it to the Friday night dinner.

Hi Chris, we would like to join the Sunday morning tasting. Nothing like some bracing Pinot for breakfast.

Chris,

Please add me to the Sunday KB tasting. I'll be solo - my wife will have had about as much wine-speak as she can handle by then!

"I think" we are heading back to the Sierras that Sunday so I cannot commit yet.
