| I told her March 28th for 8.
Tanglenet, I think we have a communication break-down. I'm in town on March 26th and 27th (I think it's that pesky leap-year thing). Can we reschedule for one of those days? Thanks for all your help! | | Heater Allen Brewing

No breakdown, just operator error. I told her Wed the 26th. Sorry!

| OK. Flora got back and said no discounts on corkage other than buy a bottle off the list and open 1 for free. Bringing beer is not a problem if it's just a couple of bottles.
I will contact a couple of the other restaurants to see if they are more accommodating. | | TN posted on Cellartracker "I drink no more than a sponge." François Rabelais www.tanglenet.com

| NEW VENUE
When: Wednesday, March 26th
Where: Ba Vo, 416 13th Street, Oakland, CA 94618. Tel. 510.832-1429 The restaurant is right across the street from the landmark Oakland Tribune Building: Time: 6:00pm
Map: Parking & Transporation:
BART: 12th Street Station - 1 Block away Parking: Street Parking will be available after 5pm. If you want to park in a garage, I recommend the CITY CENTER GARAGE. The entrances are located on 12th and 14th Streets between Clay and Broadway (closer to Clay). It is a large facilty underground. You would park there and walk through the City Center to 13th Street. There is a Merchant Garage 1/2 block from the restaurant (Franklin and 13th). It's a 2 story yellow building. The problem is that it closes at 8pm. The City Center Garage is open later (10pm or so). | Randy, 1 or 2?
I'm thinking perhaps of moving the venue as we might be too large for the restaurant. The number in my party might be growing to 4. | | TN posted on Cellartracker "I drink no more than a sponge." François Rabelais www.tanglenet.com

| Please note the venue change above. The restaurant is Vietnamese. (IMO, the food is better than the Slanted Door in SF).
Corkage will be $5.00 per bottle.
Highly recommend that you bring stems.
Wines: No theme, but PN preferred (per DukeRiley) Price: I'm guessing that the price will be in the $30-40 range (including corkage). If you are not that familiar with Vietnamese food, I can work up a menu with the owner, or we can just order when we are there. Let me know your preference. | | TN posted on Cellartracker "I drink no more than a sponge." François Rabelais www.tanglenet.com

| Jason, By changing the venue, we won't have a problem with additional bodies or being booted out of the restaurant at a certain time period. Hope you can make it! | | TN posted on Cellartracker "I drink no more than a sponge." François Rabelais www.tanglenet.com | |

| I will just be 1, any idea what time I would need to leave the St. Helena area at to get here on time? I have never been into Oakland (just the airport), hope its easy to find.
Bringing a Burg and some others, always wanted to share Burgundy with Rick.

| Jason, St. Helena to Oakland is 1:15 without traffic. Unfortunately, at that time I'd figure about 1:45 assuming no unusual accidents on I80. See you Wednesday. | | Randy Sloan Match Vineyards | |

| Doesn't sound too bad, I am also going to bring a new Napa Cab* project, that I was given a bottle as a sample of a few days ago. They have a mailer out right now with quite a star studded team behind them. SInce I am screwing the theme already, I vote Eric White bring an old Nebbiolo to satiate my palate from having to had miss the Borgogno vertical..
*Is hell freezing over...me bringing a Napa Cab(maybe even worse..the wine is Merlot based as I was just informed) to anything?

Dear god man! This whole "living in wine country" thing is clearly taking its toll. What's next? A *gasp* zinfandel? Perish the thought. I'm sure you can sock away a burg in your CamelBack and bring that along, as well :-D
