Since we'll be in the area.... and since I think we'll have some time after the tasting at Siduri... I emailed Dan and Mike at Kosta Browne to see if they could do a tasting for the group. For those of you that don't know about Kosta Browne, these guys are making some seriously kick ass Pinot. You WANT to taste these wines. NO, you NEED to taste these wines!!

Here's the email that Mike sent me:

We would love to have the group out on Saturday. Both Dan and I can be there. I just blended our 2002 wines yesterday so they will be a bit closed but I will bring some samples. We can also taste as many 03 barrels as we want. The winery is basically a construction site because of the caves but I'm sure some of the people would be interested to see an unfinished cave. Please let me know if the group will be coming and how many people it will be, and an approximate time.

So.... how's that sound? We'd need to figure out a time. If we start at Siduri at 11, would 2:30 be good? Does that give us enough time at Siduri? Kosta Browne isn't too far from Siduri... figure 20 a mintue drive.

This sounds great. As for the time, it depends on how things go. The "fur could be aflyin'" with a tasting like this. Plus it depends on how much other wine there is (we might have to drink some of that "frenchy" stuff to correctly calibrate our palettes). The Siduri tasting looks like two flights which should take about 1.5 hours total and then there is the toasting of the winner(s) and helping Adam tear things down wash up. I'd guess that 2:30 p.m would be a bit early. I'd say 3:30 p.m. That gives us an hour plus with them and then we can relax before dinner.

I'll check with the mrs. and a good estimate on how long we will be at Siduri would be welcome as m-woman will be shopping during my Siduri visit.

Add me for the Kosta Browne Post Tasting Tasting. I actually had the chance to try some of their wines at Locals in Geyserville. Very good from what I remember.

I'd like to participate. The 2001s from bottle were pretty good. It would be interesting to try the 2002/3 versions.
