| Hey gang,
I've been in touch with Whiner51 from the WS boards and we are going to have an impromptu offline tomorrow night in DC at a restaurant Whiner frequents (New Heights in Woodley Park), probably at 7:30pm. Any interest? Since both of us are into Italians, we are bringing Tuscan and Piedmontese wines.
It's going to be a small group - so far it is Whiner, his girlfriend and myself. Possible wines that will show up will be:
Clerico 1998 Barolo Pajana La Spinetta 1999 Barbera Gallina Tua Rita 2000 Guisto di Notri
Let me know if you are interested!

| There's no drop-dead time as of yet - since it's a small group I don't think it'll be a big deal if you don't know until sometime tomorrow afternoon. It'll be great to have you if you can come! | | | |

| I'd love to but can't. I am in love with Italian wines at the moment so it's sad I can't make this. I'll make it to one of these get togethers again sooner or later. Have a great time though! | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| TJ, your standard response to the massive DC Cru winefest you've helped create is becoming "sorry, can't make it." The next time we see you at one of these events, we all get to slug you once (in a friendly way)
Johnny, just bring one of those first growth bordeaux and you'll be ok, I'll talk with Jaimetown and we'll work it out BTW, I wasn't impressed with I Ricchi either, I hope it was because we ate off the lunch menu but I'd be a little scared to foot the bill for dinner just to find out that dinner wasn't much better than lunch.

| Howdy!
A few quick things...
1) My girfriend wants to make the time 8:00pm, is that ok with people?
2) For people who don't know where New Heights is, it is On Calvert Street, about 50 feet west of Connecticut (NW). If anyone is coming by Metro, it is one short block from the Woodley Park Metro stop on the red line.
3) While I don't think getting in is going to be a problem, I'm going to make reservations tomorrow at around 3:30pm. Primarily, this is because one of the servers there has agreed to not charge me corkage, so I want to request that she be our server.
I look forward to meting some of you tomorrow! a | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland. -- Woody Allen

I'll bet he picks Lab, the other two are in VA and don't allow Corkage.

But the other two places are worthy of a trip, no matter what. I look forward to when I can go to Maestro, personally.
Corkage, I know, I know. I am a schlub. I WANT to attend, but I am reining myself in as I have other stuff I gotta do and/or spend the moolah on. Man I haven't even bought any wine recently. Not REALLY anyway. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| Sorry kids, I'm out for tonight. I'll have to "TJ" it Too bad it wasn't for tomorrow, I'de be free then. Whiner, let do it agian soon, you a VA or DC guy? DW and TJ: I did pick the Lab, but not solely for corkage reasons. And we do plan on going to Maestro (my neck of the woods) and The Inn (this will require some overnight planning and the sale of some stock). | | | |

| Corkage, I'ma DC guy, but that doesn't prevent me from crossing the border. I hope a bunch of you can come, as I'd really like to met you. If you don't have Italians, that really shouldn't prevent you from coming. Just bring something you've really wanted to try, or think we'll all really enjoy. Unfortunatley, I won't be able to make another offline until the end of Feb/beginning of March. Although, starting then, I promise to be a regular And, by the way, it is whiner15, not whiner51....sheesh!!!! a | | I can't listen to that much Wagner. Johnny and I tried to get a date in the fall (Ok, my fault), so we're going to do it as soon as we can, maybe Feb. If (IF) a Lab thing gets planned in March, I'm guessing we'll probably hit that too. There are sooo many restaurants I want to try, I just have to get out there and go.
Whiner5146-I-got-your-number, we'll catch you soon. Jaimetown, let us know how it goes (hey I made miso soup for the first time last night, turned out great!)
