as metioned in another thread, mbansek & his wife are coming to the bay area. the ever-generous & quite honorable davidn has graciously offered to host a tasting event at his home (which, most importantly contains hisCELLAR) on either thursday 22 january 2004 or friday 23 january 2004. the purpose of this poll is to determine, among the likely attendants, which is the preffered date.

One problem. I'm not going to be there so I won't vote. Without voting, I can't see the results of the poll. Now for the big question:

Why the hell would I want to see it if I won't be there?

My vote is in - sure hope we can make it down to see Davidn's cellar!

As Davidn guessed on the other thread, this San Francisco resident would much prefer heading down to Los Gatos on Friday, rather than a work night.

that's why we have the poll . we should probably keep track of who is in for this event & davidn might want to cap the number of people allowed, so y'all might want to say whether you are in or not. katy & i are definitely in for 2 regardless which night wins the election.

I will have to check with Jill to see if we are in or not.

Either day will work for us. I will start another thread, in case anybody else wants to get together on a different day, or at different places.

And davidn, thank you for your generosity in hosting. I was just hoping to get together for a dinner, so your offer to host is above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you!

"Hosting"

Let's make this clear.

I will gladly host a tasting. Dinner; that's another story . I propose we go out to dinner... Dutch.

I'll furnish the wine and fois gras at the tasting. When we get settled on a date I will put together a byo restaurant deal.

As I said before... either night is fine with me.

Mike, You two have to make it. You two are the only reason we are having this bash. You tell us which night you want and that's what it will be. You have the FINAL SAY!

Put me down for 1, particularly if it's Friday.

I need to meet David N in person.

We need to taste wine together. I'm not certain about dinner, though. I may have to get back to the East Bay a little early.
