We will be there at that time and I will start forming an itinerary soon.
Didn't you used to be in Austin?

| Wino,
Don't know yet about a drive up. It depends on how much work Mrs. Doc and I will have at the meetings. Let us know the schedule you work up.
Yes, we used to live in Texas, but now we live in New York city. I work for the UN while Mrs. Doc teleworks for Texas A&M University.

| Hi all,
Ok...here are the plans.
We get in early on the 15th. We have to attend a few meetings in the day, but the evening is free.
Sunday the 16th during the day we are booked, but we are available in the evening after 7pm.
Monday the 17th is completely out.
Tuesday the 18th we leave, but it is a 9:10 pm flight. Actually, we are open from 12 till 6 pm. We are simply planning on hanging out in the city.

| Every year in November Oliveto Restaurant has a Truffle Week where they highlight truffles (Italian varieties I believe). I've never been but hear it is supposed to be good. Lafon_Rochet and Babnik have both been and can provide more detailed information. It is from November 11th through the 15th this year. I think I'm going to go. | | | |

| Btw, Lafon + Oliveto's = Danger!
Given that who is in for the 15th? I've been told that the weekends and friday fill up quickest so we should probably get a reservation soon.

| What about Doc and his wife? Doc, are you up for this? Oliveto's is right next to the BART line which runs to downtown San Francisco. So if you are staying near Market Street getting to Oliveto's would be no problem. You would not need a car. | | | |

| Btw, I just called Oliveto to ask about a reservation on the 15th and mentioned "truffle week" and got a "I don't know if it lasts till the 15th". So doing this with Doc on the 15th might be out. I'll know more either later today or tomorrow. We could of course go on a different day (i.e. earlier in the week). | | | |

| Sounds like a great idea if "truffle" week is still going on. So, let us know what does or does not work. The only restrictions are the days mentioned in my schedule post. We will not be renting a car, so we would need a cab or the BART.
Starting tomorrow, I will not be able to check internet b/c I will be in Serbia till Nov. 3 unless I can get access. After that, I should be able to chime in again.
Look forward to the plans.

| It turns out that Truffle Week ends on the 14th (the person who initially informed me was incorrect). I was also informed that going later in the week means less choice on truffles and by Friday possibly just scrapes and ends. So I propose that we go early in the week (either Tuesday or Wednesday. I know this eliminates Doc, we'll just have to plan another gettogether with the good Doctor and his wife. I will start another topic for a turffle dinner. | | | |
