There seems to be a great disagreement over the 1999 Pride Cabernet Sauvignon (regular bottling). So in the interest of helping to resolve this dispute I'm calling on the SF Bay area vinocellarites to help resolve this dispute. In order to do this I'll host at my place. I'll provide all the wine and dead cow. You show up with notebook in hand ready to take notes and post on vinocellar. I'd also like folks to bring the sides/desert along. I live in Oakland in an easily accessible area if that makes any difference. Either post here or PM if you would like to come over.

Btw, there will be more than just 1999 Pride CS on the table. I'll pour other Cabs, the number depends upon how many folks show up.

I'm figuring on starting around 5:00 p.m.

One other thing, I don't have a TV so you would have to watch any baseball playoff games on the radio.

I'd love to skwid, but we plan to be up in the Amador wine country all day...

We can be a bit flexible on the date if that is necessary as I could actually do this either the 11th or 12th. So if you already have something planned for the 11th and have the 12th open the Smackdown could be moved. I'm thinking of opening some Pahlmeyer Red, perhaps some Montelena Estate, ....

If there isn't enough interest I could postpone things a week until the 18th or 19th. But let's see what the interest is in the next day or so for this weekend.

Anthony, yes I watch the game on the radio!

I'll be close but not close enough. Will be in Bodega Bay this weekend through Wednesday with the usual obligatory Russian River winery runs.

Another Skwid cab fest? If you make it for Sunday the 12th, I would like to have a sip or two.

Yeah, it could turn into that. But I'll be slipping you some of that 1999 Pride Cab sometime during the evening and you will have to report your findings to vinocellar. So you will have to stay sober enough to take some notes.

Theresa,

Are you the Theresa I met on Sunday? If you are you certainly got your taste of Botella.

If this goes down the weekend of the 17th and 18th, I'm in. Unfortunately, out of town this weekend.

Now that I think about it, I have a brother in law who lives in Oakland and he will be visiting us. Fill up a few half bottles of juice, give to him and we can participate.

No no MM, you got it all wrong! You need to convince her to drive you!

Davidn, I'm obviously not Theresa, but can answer that question - one in the same. And glad to have her posting over here these days

Maybe Mammoth to Oakland. It's all downhill. But certainly not going back.
