Que sera, Syrah! Dallas, October 18th

Yes, fall is drawing nigh, commanding us once again to have a BIG, RED BLOWOUT! That's right folks, we're clearing out those Syrahs. For the bargain price of one bottle of Syrah from your wine cellar you can attend Dallas's premiere fall wine event at Mr. & Mrs Preferred's house. Yes, these winos are nuts enough to let us invade their home.

The Dallas Area Winos will be getting together on Saturday, October 18th, at Mr. & Mrs. Preferred's home. The proposed theme for this gathering is "Que sera, Syrah! Syrah's From Around The World".

I'd like to propose that everybody bring one bottle of a Syrah based wine per person. You pick the wine. Price is no object. Love those Rhones? Bring on those stinkin Frenchies. Prefer to reach down under? Shiraz me baby. Think California can do no wrong? Que sera, Syrah!

Boring details here ---> everybody will be required to declare their wine in advance in order to eliminate duplicates. All wines will be served blind. Each taster will rate each wine from 1 through 'X'. You will also be required to make a guess as to the origin of each wine (i.e. Cote Rotie, Barossa Valley, whatever floats your boat). The person that just happens to luck out and closest matches the top three wines of the evening based on the entire group’s ratings will win a grab bag donated by yours truly. In case there is a tie your guesses as to the origin will serve as the tiebreaker.

If everybody is agreeable I'd like each person or couple to bring something "potluck" for others to nibble on while tasting the wines. Bring your own stemware and decanter as well. Let's make this as easy on the Preferred's as possible. No muss, no fuss! If we behave ourselves they might be crazy enough to let us come back.
