Food:

Thanks to Mark, Zibibbo restaurant (call them for parking directions), just off University along the main drag, in Palo Alto -- Hwy 101 to University Ave., easy driving, iffy parking--
Food served family style (but this is not a downscale restaurant, it's pretty nice and trendy) -- see below posts for updates from Mark but right now, plan to bring $80 cash per person

Wines:

I'm going to bring:
Dominique Laurent 1998 Vosne Romanee Serie Rare, one bottle from each of six single-barrel cuvees
A Giacosa Riserva or Rocche
A Futo
A Donnhoff Niederhauser Hermannsholle magnum
Rare Australians
OK, coincidentally I just noticed that's five countries
You're going to bring:
just yer old bad self, or a really good dry red, or an interesting white starter (in which case show up on time and bring it cold), or a sweet wine; if your magnums are taking up too much room, this is the perfect time to open one

Attendance:

24 people. No blind tasting, just a free for all.

Let's plan on a "starting time" of 6:30 pm. Starting a bit earlier around 6:30 will make it a bit easier to find parking either on the street near Zibibbo, or in the above mentioned free parking garage. Or, of course, there is always valet parking right at the front door.

If you can't be there at 6:30, don't worry, as we will just be opening wines and chatting and catching up. Just come when you can and bring a couple of bottles to share with old friends - and new..!

PS: Don't forget to bring stemware (and decanters or other supplies if you need them for your wines). Please bring your whites well chilled and your reds cellar temp (or cooler) - as they will warm quickly in this weather. That said, our room was pleasantly cool last night in the middle of this heat wave..!

As the KB tasting is off, come on down. KB or other wines welcome!
