Great seeing a bunch of familiar people again, it had been too long. Also meeting so many long time board members was a treat, thanks Chris for setting this all up. Sorry I missed KB as well as I was up in Anderson Valley instead of Sonoma where I had planned.

It's funny or sad when it is a whole weekend planned around CA pinot/syrah and my favorite wines were the Selosse Substance, '47 Borgogno and '88 Engel Clos Vougeout and '96 Bolly R.D.,  I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks. ;)

I met most of you for the first time this weekend. It was a pleasure. Chris, thanks again for the superb arrangements. Thanks to Ken and Akiko for the hospitality. Thanks to all of the wineries and wine makers (Ed, Andrew, Eric, Shane, Bob B., Kevin, Justin, Dan and Michael) for their supreme generosity in pouring the, what, 60-70 bottles that we downed that weekend? Thanks to David N. for all the great sweet wine including that 6L keg. Thanks to Dan K and Michael Browne for the ridiculous Sunday morning tasting. Thanks to Paul and Kathryn Sloan for their wonderful vineyard tour and tasting. (Apologies to anyone I left out, I was fairly intoxicated by the end of the night...)

I could go on but you get the picture. So much generosity and I feel privileged to have been invited.

Tim

p.s. My wine of the weekend is a toss up between Eric's and John's Blue Label Zinfandels. Hey, that's my story and I'm sticking to it

Here are some photos.  You have to sign up for Snapfish if you aren't already a member, but it's free and easy, and they won't spam you.

The "slideshow" feature seems to cut off the first few letters of each word (maybe it's just my browser).  You might just want to click on the first photo and then scroll over to the right versus using the slideshow.

Unending thanks to R8der & Co and to all who contributed wines for this great weekend.
( And thanks to Jason for pouring and not forgetting those of us in the corner.)

 We had a great time.

...kicking myself for missing the KB tasting...

(PS - Richard, if you didn't have a great time, you weren't there)

I'll set aside 4 hours next time Michael!

Thanks so much for the best winery tasting ever!  I never in a million years expected you to go rummaging around the library and simply pulling one bottle after another on request!  Awesome stuff!  Not one but TWO vintages of 4-Barrel!  WOW!

I'm really sorry that some had to miss this....as much as I love the cave experience, soaking up Michael's passion while drinking up his finest creations is something I'll never forget!  Thanks dude!  You absolutely rock!

Kudos to Chris. Absolutely flawless event. I would go back to the Vintner's Inn in a heartbeat and would recommend it to any one else. The John Ash dinner was great, the Small Vines tasting in the sunshine among the vineyards was perfect, and the Freeman Cave dinner was a tasting and food extravaganza. All went without a hitch.

The Kosta Browne tasting. All I can say is Wow. What a privilege. Michael, thank you for the barrel tasting, the bottle after bottle being popped and of course, the hats! Man, I wish we had a bus and I didn't have to spit. Your generosity was absolutely incredible. A really memorable couple of hours!

Thanks to all who made it. Again to Chris for putting this on, to the winemakers who shared their wines and especially to the VC'ers who traveled far and wide to attend:

Kpak and Jpak
Winetex and Davetex
Scottj
Drew
J&K Fones
Mountainman

If I forgot to mention anyone else I apologize.

Thanks again everyone for your wine and friendship!

Weird. So if you're registered and logged in, after clicking on Chris' link you should see a page that shows "albums" on the middle  left. Click on "Freeman Weekend 2008" and you should get a page full of pictures, no? If not then maybe it's something about the browser you're using? I'm still seeing the album and pictures.

Kevin,

It's spelled Salinia.

Also, the last 4-Barrel sample we had at the KB tasting was the 2003.  I know because I drank the rest today.  I just now checked the bottle to confirm.  ;-)

Chris, I changed the above. Thanks.
I did not take notes at Tandem and I think you brought 3 bottles of the Tandem wnies to the Freeman event. Unfortunately, I don't have notes on those.
