The wine and food were great- the company superlative. The wines threw me for a loop as there were four of us and four bottles. We changed wines throughout the meal and when i started on the CDP I really didn't find it to my pallet, and then moved to the Chliean Cab which was highly structured and some strong tannin but a loely finish, the Piner ranch Pinot was just down my alley as I'm partial to Pinot and it was lusch, fruity with a pepper finish, and Clarendon was powerful but just a little off balanced with good in mouth feel but no finish.  then we started over agian after some appetizers and bread and the Clarendon Hills jumped on me and made me think who changed this wine and the same thing for the CDP as it now was just what I had expected- fruity great nose and buttery at the finish and then the Chilean CAb was so differnt - so open, leather with chocolate and held on for minutes after going down.
the food clearly set off the wines and a little time helped each of them open up to a higher potential-- and all profitted by some time just sitting in the glass..these were good wines and great after time and comparison to Dino's fine servings.   Norm

Norm,

We sure hated to miss that one!  Any word on when and what the next event will be?  Hope Joyce is over whatever was ailing her.

Pool Boy - some smorgashborg of flavor there with those four wines...like a jar of Bertie Bots beans from Harry Potter...are you sure you didn''t taste any ear wax? I have to admit - I can hardly even imagine some of those flavors...let alone taste them in wine...perhaps they had some inscense burning in the room eh?

Yup, I'm interested.  I got Gove's email yesterday saying that he and Mark would be in DC from 3/16-21/08.  I can do 3/17 or 3/18 as I'm heading out to San Diego on 3/19.  It would be great to participate so hopefully either of those two days would work...

Theoretically. Monday the 17th is bad for me. Other dates likely work if I can swing it

Tuesday would be best for me but I could probably make the 17th if necessary.
