The wine and food were great- the company superlative. The wines threw me for a loop as there were four of us and four bottles. We changed wines throughout the meal and when i started on the CDP I really didn't find it to my pallet, and then moved to the Chliean Cab which was highly structured and some strong tannin but a loely finish, the Piner ranch Pinot was just down my alley as I'm partial to Pinot and it was lusch, fruity with a pepper finish, and Clarendon was powerful but just a little off balanced with good in mouth feel but no finish. then we started over agian after some appetizers and bread and the Clarendon Hills jumped on me and made me think who changed this wine and the same thing for the CDP as it now was just what I had expected- fruity great nose and buttery at the finish and then the Chilean CAb was so differnt - so open, leather with chocolate and held on for minutes after going down.
the food clearly set off the wines and a little time helped each of them open up to a higher potential-- and all profitted by some time just sitting in the glass..these were good wines and great after time and comparison to Dino's fine servings. Norm |
