The final head count is 21.

BTW, let Mrs. T know that they will provide a vegetarian entree for her.  She just needs to bring it to their attention when we first arrive.

Chris, is this the salmon?
Shannon + Scott: are you bringing 1 x 750 or 2 x 750's to the dinner? For Freeman, I'm bringing 2 bottles of PN. But, for Ash, I was thinking of 1 x 750 or a mag. Help me decide!

John Ash didn't specify what the Vegatarian entree would be, they just told me it would be fabulous. I don't think she wants Salmon two nights in a row....I'm pretty sure they'll be serving wild salmon at Freeman for the three vegetarians.

Still trying to decide what to bring to the John Ash dinner ... Probably a Radio Coteau Chardonnay - to try and see if I want to order some of the current release - and a CA Cab. I saw some '02 Pride that was begging to be opened, but there are some other temptations in the cellar ...

Chris - I can't locate John Ash's wine list on line. Can you see if you can get a machine-readable version ? I'm assuming it's poor form to bring something that's on their list.

I'm thinking of a Kongsgaard Chardonnay for the Cave dinner.

I have an '02 Radio Coteau Marsh Pinot Noir for the "pump priming" in the Winetex suite before dinner. We'll miss Pete and Barbara, but at least we can celebrate with some of their juice !

Why do all of you people insist on bringing wine to the Freeman dinner!

Because it's excessive? JK

We were only going to bring bubbly for before dinner.

Seriously folks, there is no need to bring wine to the Freeman dinner. I'm as much a fan of excess as the next guy, but this is were it passes into wasteful zone...

Once I read that there will be wines paired with dinner, as well as the number of wineries pouring before hand made it crystal clear.

I won't be bringing any wine for Sat night.

Thanks!

Thank you for your restraint!

I just hate seeing anybody bring a special bottle and then watching it only have a glass missing at the end of the night.  I just wanted to cry seeing all of the leftover wine last year!  At least then we had the John Ash dinner the next night to bring it to....that's not the case this year!

I did my part!!!  LOL!

Wow, that was a lot of wine over two nights - what a great time! Really great seeing everyone.  I don't know if we can go next year, as it cannot simply be coincidence that half of Bodega Bay (where we were staying) lost power for over 12 hours this weekend!

Yes, Eric did his part for the cause.  I'm kinda glad he was staying as Bodega Bay as our hotel actually had power this year.  (sorry about that Eric).

The John Ash dinner was lots of fun.  It was good to see everyone and meet some new faces.  The pre-game festivities started off with a Happy Hour with the wines listed below.

Note that I know I did not get every wine because wines kept appearing...  please tell me what I missed.  Note that there were only 19 people in attendance so with all of those wines we were a determined group.  I have a few tasting notes but realized I missed a lot of wines.  Still thinking about WOTN.

Happy Hour
N.V. Jacques Selosse Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Substance - really fine
2003 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet - fine
1947 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva   **probably WOTN, it was great
1964 Giacomo Conterno Barolo  - oxidized  *&(*%^* !!!
2002 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir Marsh
2005 Littorai Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard

The John Ash Restaurant Dinner
2001 Domaine Weinbach Pinot Gris Altenbourg Cuvée Laurence in MAG
2004 Sea Smoke Chardonnay  in MAG
2001 Ramey Chardonnay Russian River Valley (is this the right one??)
2004 Kistler Chardonnay Durell Vineyard
2003 Kistler Chardonnay Durell Vineyard
2002 Peter Michael Chardonnay Mon Plasir

2005 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard
2005 La Rochelle Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard
2004 Outpost Grenache
2004 Pax Syrah Castelli-Knight Ranch in MAG
2002 Roar Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands in MAG
1997 Philippe Melka Metisse in MAG
1999 Dehlinger Pinot Noir Estate
2001 Surh Luchtel Cabernet Sauvignon Sacrashe Vineyard - liked this one
2002 Finca Sandoval Manchuela
2002 Paloma Merlot - liked this one too
1998 Leeuwin Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Art Series
2000 Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon  in MAG
1999 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select  - very fine
1999 Mount Veeder Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
2002 Pride Cabernet Sauvignon
1996 Château Tirecul La Gravière Monbazillac Cuvée Madame - yuuummmmy!

Thanks to Chris for working this out with the hotel through all of their "issues".  The hotel was lovely and was a super deal.

Edit:  It appears you can't do a poll in this section??  This would be a great time to have this feature!

Oops, I guess I missed this section... I'll get polls going here as well.  Just a small permissions thing to correct.
