Here is the menu.  A vegetarian course will be provided upon prior request.

Menu

DURING TASTING
Selection of Speciality Cheeses
An arranged platter of cheeses, including brie, aged Sonoma jack, gruyere, and gorgonzola. Served with assorted
crackers.

FIRST COURSE
Risotto Pan Seared Salmon with Chorizo and Tomato Broth
05 Freeman Keefer

SECOND COURSE
Vella Dry Jack Tartlette
with wild mushrooms, mache, and fried leeks
04 August West Graham

THIRD COURSE
Crisp Liberty Duck Confit
with Pinot Noir-Pomegranate Reduction
Ragu of Marrowfat Beans
Swiss Chard
Swiss chard sauted with butter and finnished with sultanas and toasted pinenuts.
Full Circle Hearth-Baked Breads
04 Kosta Browne Amber Ridge

FOURTH COURSE
Frangipan Tart with Carmelized Pear
Shiso syrup and brandied whipped cream

Because this is a remote location and everything must be brought in by the caterer, the prices are a bit high.  We are also covering one meal for each winery in attendance, so the cost (with tip) is looking to be around $143/head.  I know that's steep, but keep in mind this includes all the wine.  If this is going to be too steep then let me know and I'll see what they can do to drop a course or find an alternate that is a bit cheaper.  Please provide input!  Thanks!

Thanks for working on this Chris!  I'm fine with that price.   The menu looks Pinot friendly.

I'm looking forward to this!

I'm shocked - shocked!  The cost of the dinner is absolutely outrageous and I strongly suggest that 4 people drop out in protest.

sounds delicious  to me - and fair with wine and tip included.

as long as that's wild salmon they are serving....

LOL!

Richard,

I think you'll have a better chance to get "in" if you set up a Dutch Auction bribe.  The couple that will accept the lowest bribe from you drops out and you two are in!  That is of course if you can also bribe Tom out of the running.

This looks great to me.  My only complaint (as stated above) is that we don't have any marrow to suck.  The "Ragu of Marrowfat Beans" is close but no suck-aroo.

What is "Vella Dry Jack Tarlette"?  Are you describing the restrooms?  "Excuse me please.  I have to go to the tarlette".

As far as the "wild" salmon is concerned...  if it ain't wild just leave it off.  I'd rather have a plain risotto any day.

Looks like people are fine with the price. Obviously too low. Let's throw in some passed appetizers. At $150 we may be able to shave off a couple.

The bus was most amusing last year. Half of the people were really loud and the other half were passed out.

We're in for Friday and Saturday with an upgraded room please (no smoking)..

I think the bus would be good mostly because it is a ways from Freeman up to Rohnert Park.

I'd like to ge a count on how many people would want to get together on Friday night.

2 here. We missed the fun last year by only coming up for 1 night. Won't make the same mistake twice!

If we make the "final cut", Kevin and I would be in for (1) Friday/Saturday night hotel with two queen beds/no smoking, (2) bus to the cave dinner, and (3) Friday night dinner get together along the lines of last year's.
