This was a good tasting of mostly budget 2000 Bordeaux and some in the next level. It is nice to be able to taste wines that I would not otherwise buy. In the list below there were 2-3 buys for my cellar. I apologize for the shortness of the notes as the glasses were poor and we were moving fast.

A fun tasting.

2000 Plantier du Haut Brion Pessac Leognan Blanc (Graves)

2000 Ch. Les Moines "Cuvee Cantemerle" Cotes du Bourg

2000 Ch. Thieuley Reserve Francois Courselle (Bordeaux)

2000 Ch. Puygeraud Cotes de Francs

2000 Ch. Lanessan Haut Medoc

2000 Ch. Lalande Borie (St. Julien)

2000 Les Tourelles de Longueville (Pauillac)

2000 Ch. Grand Corbin Despagne (St. Emilion)

2000 La Chapelle de la Mission Pessac Leognan Rouge

2000 Alter Ego de Ch. Palmer (Margaux)

2000 Chateau Margaux Pavillon Rouge

Except for a couple, does not look like a very successful tasting.

It was OK although as you note the batting average was low. The Lanessan and the Lalande Borie were the winners - good wine at good price points.

I have 6 bottles of Grand Corbin Despagne on the way. Parker gave it 90pts. Might be shutting down already, WT.

JB - Parker knows better than I for sure. I added his score to my TN.

The poor glassware was inhibiting my scores to some extent. Plus the wines were not decanted which didn't help any of them. On the Grand Corbin Despagne - definitely pleasant but its character was quite muted. You may be right about it shutting down.
