I'm not really familiar with the SF Cru, but will be free the last week of April and would be interested in opening a few bottles (the cellar looks really full).

I may have met a few of you at the Cali Smackdown, but have not had a chance to attend an event since.  If there is any interest, maybe some pinot at Coco500 or ???

Let me know your thoughts...it sounds like DC has it all together and I was hoping for something local...

I may be interested. Or, to put it another way, I am interested, let me check my schedule. I've never been to Coco500 but I've heard consistently good things. There are many other restaurants in that price/quality range in town if that is unavailable. What day were you thinking?

Hey guys!  I was thinking the week of April 23rd.  Better half is out of town and I'm available.  Also open to theme.  Of course, I can bring the sauternes....

I mostly have Cal Pinot and Cabs, but like petite syrah and syrah and have a few of them as well.  But the cellar is a good mix, so I can provide an interesting drink given enough time...

As to restaurant, I've been to Coco 500, and it is a hip joint.  Great food from my friend Loretta, whom I met when she was at Stars (I know that dates me...) but I'm open to any food suggestions in SF. Â

Thoughts?

saut,

I'm talking to the manager at Perbacco to try and get the Chef's table near the kitchen. It holds a maximum of 8 people. It's been getting a lot of press recently and they have a decent wine list with reasonable prices. The only reason I'm suggesting this, is that for people coming in by BART, it's an easy walk as it's on Califrornia St. close to Aqua's. I will find out tomorrow what day is available, if they will waive the normal corkage fee, and / or what we have to buy off the list, etc.

Here's the link to their site:

By the way, I do remember Stars. My wife and I were married there!

Count me in for Perbacco. I was at the Cali Smackdown, too. It's been quite a while.

I got an email this AM. We can have the Chef's Table for Tuesday April 24th at 6pm for 8. The manager has to talk to the Som about corkage, so that's still negotiable.

Let me know if this works for everybody and who's in and how many in your party.

Darn, Tuesday would have been perfect, but I can also do Thursday the 26th or Friday the 27th.Â

Tanglenet, thanks for looking up the chef's table.  That sounds like a wonderful experience.  Let's try it another night?

Anyone game for Thursday or Friday?

It looks like I'm swamped through late May. I'd love to do something in the city, though, and Perbacco sounded awesome. (I've been hearing such good things!) When my schedule is more free I'll let you guys know. Sorry this fell through...

I can do Thursday but not Friday. Anywhere relatively close to a BART line is good for me.

Coco500 is not too close to BART, about a 15 minute walk. How about a regular table at Perbacco?

PS:  I checked out their wine list, but don't know the first thing about Italians.  Anything worth trying?

Saut, if it's just the two of us, how about XYZ? It's near SFMOMA. The have a limit of 2 bottles per party which would be fine if it's just us.

As you might have guessed, I've been remiss in my correspondence.  If you'd like, let's try the PM route to coordinate something in the near future, maybe next week or so...   This week has booked up, so I hope you are up for something a bit later.  XYZ would be great...I went there for lunch one day and it was enjoyable.Â

I have a bunch of travel coming up in May, but once that is done, I will have more time to maybe coordinate something for a group.  Went to A16 last night and thoroughly enjoyed the food.  It is out of the way for me (we had a designated driver), but the food was great and the wine service spectacular.  So many interesting Italian wines...and so reasonable!
