| Kpak is in town for a convention and Mountainman, myself and some of the Reno regulars are gathering for an offline at The Grill at Quail Corners, 6520 S. McCarran Blvd at 6 pm.
The wine format is open, but wines of balance are requested.

I guess I'll leave my zins at home! What type of food should I match wine to and are their stems plentiful and sufficient?

| The food is contemporary American and the smallish stems are good for the whites. Bring a large glass or two for the reds.
I am bringing 1994 Beaucastel and Steve will have a Talley PN and Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot Blanc.

| Me, too...but I won't be traveling with stemware. (I do keep a Reidel 'O' in my carry-on, but...) | | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is

| If I can get a room, Barbara and I will be there. We were thinking about brining a 03 Dehlinger Estate Pinot noir and a 03 Salinia Keefer Ranch Pinot noir. I can bring Burgundy stems.

| If you brought Burgundy stems, that would be great. I'll bring an 03 Domaine Serene Evenstad Pinot that I've been wanting to try. | | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is

| I'm thinking Kistler and Kistler. I can bring extra Burg stems and a Bordeaux just glass in case. Actually the Bordeaux works just fine with a Kistler chardonnay. | | | |

| It seems like the Beaucastel is out of context here. So instead I am bringing 2004 St. Innocent Temperance Hill Pinot Noir. | | | |

| Eight confirmed and two more possible.
I will be there at about 5:45 and identifiable by the ubiquitous wine bag.

| That's funny. I was just thinking that - you'll know us when we walk in with wine bags (red&black)! We might be just a little bit late as there is sometimes some lingering at the show... | | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is

| I wish I had written notes on the wine we drank. All of them were REALLY great. However, the best part was meeting so many really nice people. We spent most of our time getting to know them. Hope to do it again soon. | | | I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it. | |

| That was a plethora of pinot. I sense a cabernet weekend coming on. | | | |

| Thanks to everybody who attended, some of which drove several hours. I wish that I could have spent some more time on the other end of the table with Pete and Karen.
I was especially impressed with the Chards. The Hartford Court and both Ramey's were Bugundian in style with sensible use of new oak. There was not a bad Pinot either with 2000 Kistler Kistler Vineyard, Talley Rincon , 2003 Domaine Serene Evenstad and 2003 Dehlinger RRV being standouts.
The food at The Grill was very good as usual. We have been fortunate that the owner Sam has always waived corkage when we BYO and is truly grateful for our continued business. This stance is unusual in corkage heavy Reno.
