Wente sounds great to me. Chris, can I ask you to make arrangements with Wente? I'll compile the attendance list this evening, everyone who responded affermatively in this thread is in, but I need to sort through the responses from our BAWE group.

Sounds like we should definitely consider some selections from the special list in addition to BYO. Personally I plan to dig out some Italian wines from the 60s - maybe earlier

We'll plan on a 7:00PM start time.

Eric,

I'd be happy to call them today and set it up. How many people do you think we are talking about?

Pretty stunning given how much they normally mark up their wines. Great info, as my experience is you have to ask, or they won't offer it.

Thanks!

Tom

You aren't kidding Tom....their normal mark up is 150%!

We had a waitress we've had numerous times last night, so the list was obtained without the "what are you talking about?" deal. Still, in looking around the restaurant last night.....I didn't see anybody else with wine off of this list, so it's not well known.

Wow! That's a lot of people! I'm really looking forward to seeing some familiar faces - Eric, Teri, Lafon, and Miss Amy (even if Eric and Teri's faces are a little foggy, considering it's been like 4 years or something since I've seen them!).

Also looking forward to meeting a bunch of new people as well. No idea what I'm bringing yet, but it will very likely be Italian. I know, I know - big surprise!

Should be a ton-o-fun, can't wait! And Wente is really the finest option out this way, really great dining.

Eric, we are all set 7:00 PM on Nov 8th. I made the reservation for 15 in case we have a few others join us.

They told me that corkage is waived for all bottles....no limit. Wines on the special list will be available, and the fixed price menu is available to anybody who desires it. The fixed price is a salad/entree/dessert for $39. The entree last night was the duck breast!

I also get 8 glasses of wine free, so the first 8 to show up get a free glass as a starter.

I'm sure I can increase the number if necessary. Looking forward to meeting a few new people!

WoW! Awesome Chris, thanks! That is so cool. Now, just to spice things up a bit, the two wines I intend to bring to dinner?

1958 Marchesi di Barolo Barolo
1964 Gaja Barbaresco

Hey, Futronic is an Italian wine nut - what better time to open these?

Eric,

Still getting the posts. I can reply there as well with any updates. Looking forward to the old Italian wines....lets hope the fixed price menu pairs up with them!

Wow, great stuff Chris! Really looking forward to this.

Eric - also looking forward to those bottles. Unfortunately I finished off my last 1990 Marchesi di Barolo Barolo Riserva Grande Annata a few months ago, otherwise I would have brought it as a comparison to the one you're bringing.

Better go digging through the cellar!

Hey Chris, no need to reply both places, I just wanted to make sure. I think everyone who is attending also posts here anyhow, at least so far.

Regarding a theme, how about Peimonte?

Piemonte for a theme would suit me well. Might have to rejuggle what wines I was going to bring, however. (I think I was going Tuscan, but I think I have an option or two

Hey Eric:
If there is room for one more, please add me to the list. I am weak in the Piedmont department, so perhaps I could bring a white to start or a stickie to finish?

This may sound silly, but I'm assuming that we don't need to bring stemware? Hopefully the restaurant will be able to supply at least a couple each.

(I've already got a ton of luggage to tote around, so I'm trying to cut down on the extra).
