I had thought a bubbly also, but perhaps it will be something sweet. Will no more tomorrow afternoon.

Two finger food appetizers and two do-'em-on-the-grill side dishes.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight !

I'll stop by Gene's and pick up some of their twice-baked potatoes. These used to be a staple in our home when we lived here 15 years ago. I hope they still make them, and they're still as killer as I remember !

Really very very nice.

I never wrote any of that. You misquoted me. It was taken out of context. I never took steroids. This is a vast conspiracy. I was insulting George Bush, not our troops. OK so he wasn't faking symptoms. I apologize. But I never said that. I am not a crook. My dog ate my homework. The sun was in my eyes. I want a mulligan. I was on prescription medication at the time. I'm in rehab now. I have typewriter Tourette's. I am not comfortable yet with the English language and did not realize what the words meant. Can I edit someone else's post? I meant David Nrblgarger, he lives down the street from me. My son typed that. I'm out of excuses.

Davidn and Tricia - Thanks so much for hosting us last night ! I hope we left your home in reasonable shape, and you got enough sleep last night !

It was great to meet gchadwick, gratification and ormbee, and see dave_tong & alison, davidn & tricia and winetex again. Thanks all for the great wines and food. It seems like there was enough for twice as many of us, but I feel like I did my part. Speaking of excess, here are the wines, as best I remember ...

2004 (?) Clendenen Family Vineyards Tocai Friulano
2001 Mount Eden Estate Chardonnay
1990 Piper-Heidsieck Rare Champagne
NV Drappier Champagne
2004 Roar Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir
1984 Freemark Abbey Bosche Cabernet Sauvignon
Fonseca (?) 20 year-old Tawny Port
1996 Ch D'Yquem

oh yeah, we also put a big dent in the 5 liter of Dunn. I did save a couple of 750s that I'll bring Saturday night. It should start to open up by then !

Once I finally found Davidn's place in the rainy dark night everything was great. It rains every time I come to CA.

Thank you David for hosting a bunch of happy wine weenies. And thanks Scott for the Dunn - the Dunn was special and might be more so on Saturday. And thanks to everyone else including Gratification for the cooking/appies and for all the good wine. Must get breakfast before tasting notes.

Yes, it was a bit of a mystery tour - I think we did three U turns
And the "thrill ride" at the top of the hill is always interesting.

Great evening. I want Mrs G's recipe for those goat cheese triangles, they were excellent.
And I want a grill like DavidN's!

Great meeting everyone - see you on Saturday!

Had a great time. Mrs. G says that it's OK to post the recipe, so I'll do that - prolly this weekend.

Wonderful evening my friends. Thanks much!
