| Powell's posted on WD that he's in for two.
I'm umming and ahhing what to bring. Randy wants to keep this informal so a blind Don Melchor vertical is out, thoughh I may still bring an '03
Paul was interested in the Old Creek Ranch stuff that I posted about on WS. I've got 05 Viognier, 04 Petite Sirah and 03 Cab. Any preference?
I may also bring an interesting sticky - 93 Disznoko 5 Puttonyos - especially if there's a possibility of some foie gras.

I'm waiting to hear, but I don't think Alexander's will be flexible on corkage. Any other suggestions in case this doesn't work out?

I do need to pick up some wine from you, so pm me if you won't be there on Sunday.
As I said in an earlier post, I'm planning on bringing a young wine and am looking at one of these CA Cabs:
2001 Blank
2001 Clark-Claudon
2002 Clark-Claudon
Anyone have a preference ?
I can also bring a 2002 or 2003 Kongsgaard Chardonnay, if we want a white.
I've checked Alexander's wine list on line, and none of these wines appear. Is their list up-to-date ?

| Well, let's put it to a vote. I just heard back from Alexander's. The first two bottles at the table are $25 each. All additional bottles are an extra $50 each.
I personally vote no. This makes Napa Cabernet pricing seem reasonable.

Closed on Sundays. If we can switch to Saturday it's a good option.
Spencer's at the Doubletree has no corkage, but they use waaay too much salt.
I liked the lamb shank at The Loft - corkage there is only $10.

I'm good for either Saturday or Sunday at where ever you all decide. I don't mind going further up the peninsula if that makes sense.

Emile's was tough on corkage last time plus he is in Switzerland somewhere climbing a mountain so I can't "negotiate" with him.
I've never been to The Loft.
Forbe's Mill is good but we still don't know what the corkage policy is. I forgot to look at the bill last time we were there  . Larry is coming over for dinner tonight so I'll bug him.
Have eaten at Sent Sovi once since the new owners have been there; terrible food and experience.
Haut Tubbee would be fantastic! The chef doesn't have to be as "fancy" as last time.
I will suggestThe Basin in Saratoga. I know I can get some sort of deal on corkage and the food is pretty good. They also have a private room.
I'm also pretty sure that I could work out a deal at The Plumed Horse in Saratoga. They also have private rooms. | | | |

I was thinking I can do 'steak house' if we come to doing it here. Grill Rib Eye's and do the traditional sides family style. I might start with a lobster dish I had at Bistro Elan Friday, that I'd like to try out on willing volunteers.
