All sound good. I'm thinking about Bubbles and maybe a hearty Pinot. <drooling thinking about that brie appetizer with bubbles>

CWG, do you have stemware with you? If not, would you like me to bring you a glass?

Good idea B - they don't have very good stemware there. I'll bring bubbly stems for all.

That'll be perfect. I will have room in my case for a couple extra red stems as back-ups

Yes, your wine purse is packed and ready to go. BTW - it's a pretty cool wine purse.

I do not travel with stemware, so if someone could bring me a red stem, that would be great!

Looking forward to it!

Thanks for the red wine stem Brad! Great times, great people, great food, great wine. TNs to follow.

Thanks everyone for that Austin, TX welcome!

P.S. The wine guy at CH needs to get over himself...

That dude was a wank. NEXT time (hint, hint) we'll do a change of venue.

No notes but WOTN's were:

'98 Harlan the Maiden
'99 Arietta Merlot
'02 SQN Hollerin' M
'99 Biale Monte Rosso zin

Good to see ya again Joe!

Ya, we may be banned from CH. Our waiter was pretty happy though and got a lot happier during the meal.

It was great to meet ChicagoWineGeek and see everyone else. We had a great time. Notes to come on the wines.

Our waiter clearly knew where his bread was buttered.

To be honest I was kind of let down by the CH menu anyhoo. Not a lot of breadth as far a s entree items which I guess was evidenced best by all nine of us (iirc?) ordering the same entree. The appy's were very good though.

FWIW the waiter told us that Micheal Vilim was becoming much more influential in the going's on there not just with the wines but the menu as well. Mirabelle's menu/food is much more agreeable to wining and dining imo. Speaking of Michael Vilim, since he makes the wine list and all the wine buying/pricing decisions for both restaurants, what exactly does the sommelier do? He was never on the floor until we requested him.

I vote for a return to 34th street. to visit our buddy Rafe.

Yes, 34th should be in the running for the next one. Rafe takes very good care of us. I may go see him Saturday

Last night was fun!

If we are banned from CH, I don't think I'll lose any sleep over it.
