Posted here and at WS, here are the current particulars for this Sunday's JTC Grenache tasting.

Right now we are at 18 with rjs still on the fence pending a babysitter. Still need to do some wine organizing. Here is what we have so far:

LCC - White (2 bottles)

Stemor/vinotyro - Grenache (2 bottles)
rjs - Grenache (2 bottles)
armar - Grenache (2 bottles)
jazin - Grenache (2 bottles)
ttepper - Grenache (2 bottles)
ojeffso - Grenache (2 bottles)

jb - dessert wine 375
dr. t - dessert wine 375
revlis - dessert wine 375
Short - dessert wine 375

If rjs is unable to attend, then Rev and I will step in w/ an emergency grenache. 6 Grenaches in 3 flights of 2. Bring your own stems, if you can. Two for each person. ojeffso will bring a few extras in case you don't have any. Make sure you open your wine prior to arriving to give it a little unwind time. Bring it in a brown 750 paper bag. Wines will be tasted blind. I will post this here and at the other site to make sure it gets to everyone.

Yikes. I didn't realize I committed to come.

Apologies, but my wife made plans (for herself) that afternoon that requires me to be on Daddy Duty.

What time does this dinner begin? I may be able to swing by, but right now it doesn't look good.

Looks like we'll be doing a four course menu, with some Aquila favorites and some other things they will be suggesting to go with Grenache.

Sound good? They are working on the menu now, and will be able to give us a price per person. They know we are bringing the grenache, and it'll be approximately 18 people, maybe a couple less.

Afrim has been very hard to track down the last week and a half, so I'm talking to Antonio over at Tre Vigne for the moment. Supposedly Afrim will be in this afternoon to verify everything.

Ok... finally got the call back.

Menu:

4 courses -- $63/each (includes tax and gratuity)
Bring your check or cash to the dinner.
Revlis will collect it there.

1st Course
Duck Confit with an Orange Demi-glaze
2nd Course
Lamb Ravioli in a light cream sauce
3rd Course
Filet Mignon over Mashed Potatoes
4th Course
Choice of White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Torte (Delicious!!)
or Warm Chocolate cake.

Sorry my descriptions aren't the best, but you will NOT be disappointed with the food, it is tremendous. If there are any vegetarians or special needs, just let the wait staff know when you arrive, they'll be able to arrange something for you.

Lastly, you should bring stems if you have them.

That menu sounds great. I'm going to be sorry to miss it, but I wasn't blessed with OJEFFSO's fortitude.

I see all the Grenache and I am disapointed that this event is 1. Across the continent from me and 2. Stemor can't attend the December 7 event in SoCal and jet-set to the east coast.

He must be getting old! A little thing like a continent never stopped him before.

Sounds like a great time.

Give them one hour at home and then put them back into the bottle. That should be perfect.

Question/Request: I have Cabernet/Brdx Glasses & Burg/Pinot Glasses. Which is a better fit for this Grape variety? Never tasted this Grape variety.

Thank You.

I would go with the Bordeaux stems. That is what I will be bringing.

Further update: As of today, rjs is out. We are now down to 15. If we lose any more we can go to single bottles.
