Wow-- here's your chance to ask Mark for whatever you desire??? from his larder for our tasting pleasure-- who could resist that!!!

On the wines we will bring it seems like Dinwiddie and I will bring two whites each and then we have 6 reds from Micheal Browne, and 6 reds from Mark so if someone else could bring two more whites we'll have about 18 bottles for those 18 signed up now and a maximum of 20 diners if two more sign up.

The dinner looks like a three course selection from chef Bryan Voltaggio for $72 plus tax and tip.

so let me know how this sounds- I've made the reservation for 7pm and have a room for our party.

Wow, this sounds great! I only wish to be a part of it. You DC-guyz will have fun & enjoy the wines/company. Mark & Gove and Michael Browne are some of the finest & classiest people in the biz. Like I said, I only wish that I could have been been a part of this night. Have fun!!!

all full-- thanks for your interest-- we'll let you know how it turns out-- Alex Red has agreed to bring a couple bottles of whites so I think 18 bottles for 20 people are enough unless someone wants to bring something we have to taste,

CapKat...

Do you have any dessert wines on board? How about if I can find something in the cellar and advise what I'll bring?

Regarding the dinner....is the chef preparing a 3 course menu for us or will we pick off of the menu? I don't eat meat or chicken....

Thanks,
T-Rep

sounds good T-rep-- I'll also advise them we would like to have items available that meet your diet requirements. As it is now it looks like they will provide 3 choices for an appetizer, 3 choices for an entree and 4 dessert choices.

I'll also bring your Insignia

I'll take the 1 if you can't get 2. My wife is a bit wishy washy about it anyway - though I am encouraging her to attend (she says she wants to attend just for the drive home...with her behind the wheel!)

OK winoman-- you are in for 2-- Palmers says there is room for 21.

Are there any diet restrictions for anyone other than T-rep has already advised.

Here's what I have worked out so far--
Appetizers- choose any one
1.Baby romaine, Berkshire blue cheese, crisp house pancetta
2.Frisee, 4 minute egg, crisp bacon, spanish Sherry Vinagrette
3.Tartare of yellow fin tuna, miso -lime emulsion, crisp sesame crackers
Entree- choose one
1.Dry Aged Rib-Eye, cofit bulb onions
2.Wild striped Sea Bass,Mayer lemon infused olive oil, parsley pesto
3.Sonoma county Muscovy duck roasted and confit

And one of four desserts selected by the chef

if the majority would rather have a choice of (a) Grilled Beef Filet Mignon"european cut" caramalized shallot, red wine natural or(b) Veal porterhouse, rosemary and creamed peppersorn natural -- in place of the rib-eye let me know.

Thanks-- Norm

Norm...

Thanks for posting the menu choices. I'm fine with what's offered for the first and second courses. No need to do anything vegetarian for me....

Thanks,
T-Rep

Hi Norm,

Looking forward to the dinner and the event. I do want to say that I will be solo so there will be one more space. Hopefully it can be filled.

See you next Friday.

Super! Thanks....menu looks great too - do we need to make our choices in advance?

Also what is the plan for the wine...everyone brininging a bottle or several? If there are 20+ folks should we bring 2 bottles of the same wine? And did I understand that you need whites? (again I'm mainly a red guy...but do have various german Reislings, Sauterenes and perhaps some other whites - though except for the first two not sure if I have 2 bottles of anything decent....

Well wino if you want to bring a matched pair of reislings- that will go nicely with the whites ,Dinwiddie, Alex, and I are bringing and with T-rep bringing some dessert wine and then with the stuff from Neal and Kosta- Browne we should be set. That adds up to about 20 bottles for 20-21 diners so no one should be thirsty when we are done. If so I'm told Palmers has some wine for sale at their joint Sound OK to you and what say you the rest of the group?

P.S. you make your choices for meals at the dinner--

CK...

Sounds to me that if any of us go thirsty, it'll only be our own faults....looking forward to the dinner.

OK the wine from CA has arrived-- the dinner is at 7 PM and the assignments have been handed out for the vino to compliment the Neal and Kosta-Browne - the reservation is in Norm Herring's name- and it should be a blast. TJ can you memorialize the evening with photos? Questions???

Norm....

In case TJ has a brainfart and forgets the digital camera, I'll bring mine.

Looking forward to the evening....
