| I have formed an Australian red wine forum that is focused on tasting aged Australian Reds. Currently, the group meets every 2-3 months at my house in Lafayette, CA. However, we are looking at also holding events in San Francisco. If you are interested, send an email to: rednotwhite@comcast.net | | |

| J_O,
Are you talking a tasting where all participants bring wines or one that you run yourself and charge for the tasting?

| Likely a combination of both. The intent is to be able to taste/drink aged Australian red wines. Once a theme/format is set for a tasting, the group will figure out how to handle it. I would expect the group to balacne out cost if someone is bringing most of the wines.
Not many people I know have much depth in older Australian reds....

| J_O,
If I could make a suggestion...
We have a tasting group already established in your area. It is fairly well attended (from 8-15 people each time) and has room for several new people.
I would suggest you contact Eric White or GATC and chat with them. I think you would be better off joining our group with already a good established base.
Eric lives in Pleasanton and GATC lives in Piedmont.

| davidn, thanks for the thought. If you are speaking about BAWE, I have been in that group since the early days and enjoy it when I am able to attend. That group has a very different format & structure to it than this one.
As I intended above, this forum is geared towards people with a strong interest in Australian red wines. Our next event will be a vertical tasting of 4 wines: '92, '93 & '94. Possible wines include: Elderton Command, Peter Lehmann Stonewell, Henschke Mt. Edelstone, Rosemount Balmoral, St. Hallet Old Block and/or Grant Burge Meshach.
Hope that helps to clarify. Did you want to be added to the list?

| Email sent. This sounds interesting. I've got a few Penfolds but only going back as far as 1996. | | http://scmwine.blogspot.com - My wine blog. http://scmwine.wikispaces.com - your guide to the Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley
