| No, but Henry's Evergreen is a real experience. I've gotten to know Henry and he'll arrange a dinner to suit our wines. In case you don't know, Henry's Evergreen is a Chinese restaurant in NYC with a passionate wine devotee for an owner. They have a great wine list at modest prices. There's a $10 corkage fee that should be dropped if we buy a bottle, but I think I can get Henry to drop the fee. I've been to very satisfactory wine dinners there before. |

| Well, we have time to decide. Even if there are only six of us, it could still be a gfo. Anybody else? | | | |

| OK. Here's the scoop. I just spoke to Henry. He said he might not be there, but if he isn't, he'll arrange with the staff to treat us well. I hope he's there, because he's a great person and loves to talk about wine. Corkage is $10 per bottle, but if we buy just one bottle from his very fairly priced wine list, all corkage fees will be waived. That's certainly the way to go. We'll pick out something from the list that appeals to us.
Next- the address: Henry's Evergreen 1288 First Avenue (It's on the east side of First Avenue between 69th and 70th.)
Dress is casual. Date is this coming Saturday, April 5th, at 8 PM.
The wines:
ojeffso indicated a desire to bring Alsatians. I thought of that also, but I can bring anything. If I bring whites, I'll bring them in a bag with ice, but I'm happy to supply anything. We will arrange a dinner to compliment the wines we bring. Please post on this thread what you'd like to bring.

| Board-O: would you say dress a little more casual than Willow- or about the same for dress? Maybe nice black jeans? We don't eat a lot of Chinese, so tell me what types of wines you suggest- was thinking about a 99 White Cottage "Risa" (a very smooth Meritage Cab/Merlot Blend )- and maybe a Pinot? Or a B&H 99 Ode to Picasso? We also have a bottle of Majella Sparkling Shiraz if anyone wants to try something different to start...(we have not tried it either)

| This is not going to be a highly spiced Szechuan meal. It's Cantonese, my favorite type of Chinese cuisine and certainly the most wine friendly. We'll be able to match almost any wine. Since this is relatively last minute, people can just bring whatever they want. I'd suggest posting here so we don't all bring the same type of wine, unless that's what everyone wants. Anything you bring will be fine.
The dress is nice casual. Nice jeans should be OK.
I haven't posted what wines I'll bring because I figured I'd wait and fill in the gaps. I could bring an older Rhone, or Alsatian, or just about anything. We'll bring one bottle per person and buy one from the list. We're driving so we have to be careful/ Leave enough time to get into the city. I hear the river crossings, both yours and mine, are under close scrutiny with some security checks.

| OK people. Time to start posting what you'd like to bring. I'll stand something up to decant, but I need to have an idea what people are bringing. We might another VC guy if he can clear his schedule and we can still fit in other people. | | | |
