Not able to attend Jaimetown
Not sure TJ Dr. T
If everyone attends that's responded either yes, probable or not sure, we're talking about 21 people. This may be a problem on a Saturday night since we'd either need a private room or to take over a significant part of a restaurant. Equinox was willing to have 20 people for Mrs. T's 50th birthday on a Saturday night so they're a possibility. As for a theme, if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to chime in. Otherwise, I'll start to check with some DC restaurants but also welcome your thoughts on a restaurant as well.

| | We're in dependent on timing of familiy commitments. I know someone wants to have a BBQ or something Saturday afternoon, and I think we're seeing Cirque du Soleil at some point (maybe Friday?). | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| T-rep Joyce and I are truely struggling with multiple commitments. She's just back from weeks of travel to take care of elderly relatives in Ohio and Michigan, and we seem to be on a merry-go-round with those obligations so June looks grim for us- just as May has been for time availability.
Drink one for me.
Thanks-- Norm | | | |

| | T-Rep, Mrs. David Z will be able to attend. We'll do our best to bring two bottles of the same wine so no one will have to try to match up our offering. Equinox would be a great choice. Le Paradou, Tosca, Corduroy all seem to be able to handle large groups. I am having lunch at Tosca today, and I'll see if they would have an issue with corkage. | | | |

| TRep,
Sorry for the delay in response as I have been Peru all this past week (and I still am). I just went to the wonderful Macchu Picchu yesterday.
You can most likely count 2 in (if still possible) for Mrs. Doc and I. I will check with her once I am back in DC.

| The date looks good, so far, for me. We're hosting the Mrs. TJ clan, though, the next day for a birthday thing, so I'm going to be a cleaning fiend on the 4th. Fortunately, we're grilling steaks for the thing, so not too terriby much prep to do on that front. Count me as still maybe, but it's looking better thus far.
Oh and by the way, Doc_, I hate you. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| I'll start making calls tomorrow and will advise the outcome. As for a theme, we could do a free for all and have everyone bring whatever they want, or do the Cali cab theme that DavidZ was to have at his house. If we do that, we could go the steakhouse route...I'm open for suggestions regarding a theme, so please advise if there's anything you all would like to do.
My main concern is finding a restaurant that will allow a party of 20+ for a Saturday night.....

| | If we do the cab thing, I'll bring a couple of '85 Groths or if we want to try current wines, I'll bring a 2001 Bressler and 2001 Neal. I would just need someone to match me up with the second bottle of each. | | | |

| I've spoken with Equinox in DC and they can accommodate our group on June 4th at 7:30PM. They have 3, 4 and 6 course menus, but as I recall from reading an earlier thread, this was the location of the first DC Cru get together and coordinated by TJ. Don't know if you all want to go back there but I at least have us confirmed somewhere. Other calls were made but I'm waiting for call backs. Let me know if there are any other suggestions out there.

| Last I checked, there was no rule against the DC Cru going to a restaurant for a second time. We've done it for the Caucaus Room and Lavandeau, so Equinox will be ok. In fact it should be great. They did a great job for us the last time. And that was a couple of years ago if I remember correctly.
I'm all for making it a Cab night, but if I remember correctly Equinox's menu is varied enough that a Cab only evening might overpower some of the courses.
If we are going to have 20 folks or so, we need to figure out a way to coordinate wines so that we have two bottles of each. Of course, the blind tasting that we did for the first DC Cru Rocks Equinox event was a lot of fun too.
So bottom line, I think Equinox is a great choice.
