Anyone want to get together for something low key downtown that night? I'd love to meet some of the left coast VC members.

GFD has recommended a very good place if steak is ok.

Grill On the Alley

We've also got a very good Michael Mina restaurant. Corkage is only $20 iirc.

Arcadia

Waddaya think CWG?

The Grill looks outstanding, as I am a full fledged carnivore. As for the prospect of a SQN, wow! Got lots of postcards, but never tried a bottle. Now I've just got to think of what to bring from my basement. I am sure everyone there has what I have or better.....

I am in! I'd missed this thread. Work getting in the way of my life again...

Steak is ALWAYS good. I think Forbes Mill is slightly better, but this will be a good chance for Grill to set the record straight

What kind of swill should I bring?

David,

Thanks for the offer. I'm staying at the Hilton so I can walk. Ok, now I need some help deciding what to bring. Initial thoughts:

1997 Vineyard 29
1997 Seavey
1997 Staglin
1997 Heitz Marthas Vineyard
2001/2002 Alban Syrah Seymores

CWG - I suspect the Seavey might not be ready yet. If you bring it, it may need a long decant.

It did. That flight turned out a little weird (the Yattarna was dead, the Schwarz was on its last legs, and the Kracher was a late harvest wine) and that fouled the results imo.

No it didn't win (we're talking the 2002 Kongsgaard here)... the 2003 Testarossa Rosella's won (at least it was showing better than the Kongsgaard that day).

The best Best BEST woth was difinitley the 2000 Kracher #7 that I entered. I have no idea why it didn't win. Just because it was a little sweet?

Randy, you bring the K'gaard and I'll see if I can dig up a bottle of the T'rossa.
